we stayed in beit shmuel for four nights and found the hotel to be very accommodating and the staff attentive. any problem that we had was taken care of right away and done with a smile. the food was good, rooms were clean and what can you say when you wake up to the view of the old city...

To be a 10 minute walk from the Jaffa Gate, made this a good choice. The rooms were a bit pokey, and not always as clean as we'd like (one room had mould in the bathroom).
