We were fortunate to find a room at Montefiore Hotel for our visit to Jerusalem at the beginning of October 09. The hotel itself was very clean and the rooms were attractive and comfortable. It was our first visit to Jerusalem ever and the hotel was ideally situated as a central base from which to tour the city and further... more

Very nice exterior, not as well kept interior, but adequate. Small hotel with sabbath elevator that automatically stops on every floor during Shabbat. Beds comfortable, bathroom good with American style shower (no need to sweep up water with squeegee as at other hotels in Israel). On a really nice, closed off, small street that runs into King George St and... more

You absolutely cannot beat the Montefiore's location and price. It's smack in the middle of the city with everything within walking distance, except government buildings.Located on a pedestrian street, there's barely any street noise. You can open the window to let in the sounds of the street cafe and then close it to be noise-free. A/C, hairdryer, kettle, refrigerator, TV,... more

I decided to stay at the Montefiore Hotel after it was suggested by the manager of the Jerusalem Inn Hotel, where I had stayed on my previous trip to Israel. He manages both places, and he thought that I might like to try something different. The Montefiore is somewhat upscale and is much like the hotels that a westerner would... more

The rooms are nice enough, and it is in a very excellent location, 2 blocks from Ben Yehuda St. Perhaps I was just there on the wrong days. The wifi was out, and 2nights of Shabbat elevator, which stops on every floor on the way UP!, and there is only one elevator. If you are there on Friday nights ask... more

My wife and I stayed here two nights. We found it adequate, at a decent rate during the holiday season ($173). The breakfast selections were good. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Other reviewers noted the walk from the parking spot to the hotel entrance, requiring a bit of effort with luggage. (The hotel is on a quiet traffic-free block.)The... more

This hotel is a wonderful place to stay. The location is near perfect - 1 block from Ben Yehuda, and walking distance of many major attractions/neighborhoods. Walking, the kotel is about 25 minutes away, Mea Shearim about 10-15 minutes, and several synagogues just 2-3 blocks away. The hotel itself is nice, although not luxiriant. The breakfast is good, and everything... more

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights in late June. The location was great, on a nice pedestrian street about 3 minutes from Ben Yehuda mall and about 20 minutes walk from the Machane Yehuda market and the Old City. The rooms and the bathrooms were sparse and dated but clean. The breakfast buffet is quite good, and... more
