Yemin Moche is a beautiful place to stay. A short walk from the Jaffa Gate or Mount Zion (although steep in places), the area itself is a quiet, pleasant pedestrianised residential area with great character- just make sure your taxi driver follows the owner's directions and doesn't abandon you to drag your cases up and down the many flights of... more

We just came back from two wonderful weeks in the Avissar's house. We enjoyed it so much. First and foremost the place is astounding- you will not find a place like this any where else in the world- you go out and look at the Old city walls of Jerusalem – almost can touch them. Yemin Moshe is a place... more

We found this great historical place in Jerusalem at the last minute, after a storm canceled our previous trip-plan. The owners were so kind to us, bringing extra blankets, and helping with everything we needed. The old heavy gate, built into the stone-walls is a masterpiece! Actually sitting inside this massive walls, and watching the storm hitting the old city... more

My sister and I just returned from renting Under the Olive Tree one bedroom apartment. I have pictures to document the mold in the bathroom, broken light fixtures and filthy sink in the kitchen area at the end of this review. Even the chairs were stained. We bought bleach, sponges and rubber gloves so we could mop the floors and... more

My 12 year old daughter and I just returned from a week's stay in Avissar House. We stayed in 'Under the Windmill," the studio apartment. And yes, it was compact, but it was completely clean and comfortable. The tiny kitchenette and fridge were a real convenience; it included a one-burner hot plate, a heating tray that you could plug in... more

We have stayed for one week in Jerusalem in one of the appartments of Avissar House, named "under the Olive Trees". For my wife and I it was a perfect place, basic but within a day we settled us and it feels like we are at home. The place is situated near to the Jaffa Gate, so when we are... more

We found Avissar House perfect of us. It is equal distance from the Lion's Gate and the Jaffa Gate - about a 15 minute walk. We were in the larger of the two downstairs units and we loved it. Downstairs means cool even in the heat of Jerusalem. There is no vehicle access to the front door so walking is... more

I've stayed at Yossi's Avissar House now for four times, over a 4 year span, in durations from one week to three. I've stayed in all but one of the studios and suites. I spend much of the time when I'm not there wishing I was! It's more like a B&B than a hotel. Minus the breakfast. But really it's... more

I was searching the internet for an apartment in Jerusalem and had heard such wonderful things about the Yemin Moshe area and when Avissar's House came up, I was delighted. So I called the owner and booked the 'Under the Olive Tree' one bedroom. As soon as I walked into the apartment, i was very very disappointed and angry. It... more

We took two apartments at Avissar house - The Windmill, a studio partment, and Under the Olive Tree, a one-room apartment. Both apartments were absolutely filthy - dirty bathrooms, crusted kitchen areas and soiled utensils, soiled/stained towels and bed linen and thick dust on the TV, pictures and light fittings. Even the walls were dirty and the rugs were dusty... more
