This hotel is past its sell-by date, but nevertheless, is very good value for money. The restaurant isn't bad. Got hassled for trying to put drinks in the bar on my room bill, but was able to charge meals. Never did work that out. The carpets and furnishings in the public areas are faded and worn, but the staff are... more

We've been there for 4 nights and we agree with other reviews: large rooms, clean, air conditioned. The rooms on the back are better because they're away from trafic, but are closer to the muezzin.... Outside there are not many things to see, so U need to take a taxi and go downtown (almost 20 minutes, depending on day time);... more

If you've previously stayed at the big resort hotels on the Dead Sea, Petra or Aqaba, this is a step down. But it's a good basic hotel pretty centrally located and fine for downtown Amman or trips out north to Jerash, or even as a stop-over before a flight home. The restuarant has an evening/breakfast buffet and basic a la... more

I stayed here in 2007 after staying at a terrible hotel in another part of Amman and some fairly average places throughout Jordan that were dressed up as 'good hotels'. The Golden Tulip was what you'd expect for the money and is a good mid-range option for those wanting what I'd call minimum western standards of cleanliness and service. The... more

Although I agree with the other comments, the large rooms, the good service, friendly staff I wonder if any of them tried to sleep in a room at the front of the hotel. Even with the windows closed and earplugs in I could still hear the traffic and it went on all night. The other tour members who were allicated rooms... more

I stayed at the Grand Palace for one night and have to say that i was extremely pleased. The room was big with a big window that opens, the bathroom clean, nice selection of English-speaking channels on TV. I was hungry when I arrived at noon and they opened the restaurant an hour before schedule to serve me. I also... more

The staff were friendly, from the security man at the front to the man who wanted to clean our room. You can always find faults if you look hard enough, eg. the carpet was a bit worn in places, but our stay was without fault. I'd recommend Golden Tulip Grand Palace to anyone. Out room was clean, beds comfortable, large... more

I book the Golden Tulip Grand Palace on the strength of the majority of TripAdvisor reviews on the hotel, and wasn't disappointed. I certainly felt I got my money's worth, and was happy to return here at the end of my coach tour of Jordan. The staff couldn't have been more helpful, and when I came back a week after... more

This hotel is terrible. It was built in the 70's and I don't think anything has been updated or cleaned since. Stay at the place right next door instead. more

Nothing impressive besides a very helpful staff, a great buffet breakfast and the very large size of the rooms. overall it needs a lot of polishing, you can see that even from the lobby where the couches are so obviously warn... Was clean, but overall, the tulip was not so golden... more
