This hotel was recommended to us by other travellers we had met. I'm so glad we took their advice. We knew this place was different when, on first arrival, all our usual haggling skills were rebuffed. This place actually charges what it's posted rates say! Hotel was clean, room was comfortable if nothing special. The staff although not rude didn't really seem interested, generally staff in Jordan were very helpful. The rooms overlooking the swimming pool are small but nice with a little balcony. However the ones for 3 people are sad, just a basic room. All of them have a very tiny bathroom. My wife and I stayed at the Mariam this Oct. 13, 14 and 15. Dirty lobby, dirty stairs, dirty balcony and awful room. No water pressure.
