Picked this hotel based on lonely planet. Really friendly staff who recommended a great local bbq place for a cheap dinner. Nice lobby area to chill out and watch tv with the owner. Rooms are fine, simple but clean. Madaba itself hasn't got that much going on but it's a nice quiet town that is a good place to stay... More

Only stayed for one night, but service and accommodation was a high standard. Nice spacious and comfortable room. Airport pick up was also arranged by the hotel , our driver was easy to find on our arrival and quickly got us safely to the hotel.

Genuine family run hotel. Comfortable beds, clean rooms, excellant breakfast. A great place to stay if visiting Madaba or to use as a base if exploring the surrounding area. Day trips can be done to Jerash, Amman, Dead Sea and as far south as Karak from here and with the wealth of knowledge of his beautiful country, the owner, Odeh,... More

The rooms are older and our bed sheets were admittedly worn and thin. However, you need to realize what you are paying for – a 2-Star hotel. For 35JD/night, the Black Iris was suited for our short stay. We arrived in Jordan at 2 a.m. and needed a place to stay for a few hours before heading to Petra. Although... More

We've just read the last review and we definitely disagree, maybe that guy commented the wrong hotel. It's a very nice, comfortable, central and cozy hotel. The owner is kind and helpful, our flight was in the evening and he let us the opportunity to let our backpacks for free at his hotel after the checkout during the day. The... More

I booked online and the email replies were prompt and easy to understand. The hotel is easy to find and centrally located within a 10 minute walk to the city center. Check in was fast and simple and Odeh does his best to accommodate your needs. However there is no elevator and the rooms are very basic and outdated. The... More

We stayed in this hotel earlier this month mainly based on TA and can't complain. This was the first hotel we stayed in Jordan and had arranged airport pickup direct through hotel with no problems. The room was clean and basic which was fine with us. Breakfast was basic with bread, eggs, cheese, fruit juice, tea, coffee. The owner/manager was... More

The location is nice and service of staff is nice too. I have to say that the hot water in the room is wonderful because there is few hotels can offer a comfortable shower in Jordan. The breakfast just fine. The map hotel gave us is very clear so that you can just fellow it. If u have any question,... More

We booked this based on TA reviews and the review in the Lonely Planet. Ok so it didn't help that we had only just come from the Intercon in Aqaba but even so this place is basic. The room was clean but it was very small and really dingy - no natural light at all - you had to have... More

Black Iris Hotel is a lovely and attractive place to stay. I really enjoyed the relaxed 5 days we spent there and the delicious breakfast (try the foul medanes), but most of all, the staff is amazing. Odeh, the manager, will help you to organize your trip, explain you many things about his country, share great tips... The hotel is... More
