Tylos is right in the middle of the old market area known as the Suq. It is walking distance to the downtown core which makes it very convenient if you are going there on business. Tylos can be rated as a one star at best. It may be in your best interests to stay at a known 'franchised' hotel like the Ramada or Holiday Inn if you are on a budget or the Sheraton or Intercon if you can afford it. The'no-name' hotels like the Tylos cater to and attract the 'alcohol and hooker' tourists from the neighbouring region and can get a little noisy on weekends.
