First of all....make sure you get a WRITTEN conf from these people. Surprise, when I got there, my reservation was not found. I was advised that the only room they had available was a double rather than the single I had reserved. Then they tell me the double is 180.00 USD a night.....HA! I had just come in from Syria... more

Great location on a lovely street with cafes and little bars. A supermarket is 2 minutes walk away . We loved staying at the Embassy hotel; the receptionist and staff were very nice and helpful ...though their mastering of the english language was not to the perfection. We were surprised when we were greeted with a bottle of local wine and... more

Based on reviews on numerous sites, my friend and I stayed here. We were very disappointed. Our room was small and was also home to a number of mosquitos. There is salt water in the taps, so we bathed and brushed our teeth in salt water--why, I wonder? We left Beirut for a few days, and when we returned we... more

in the heart of the city, close to the interesting places, restaurants, nightclubs, cafes nearby, very friendly and helpfull stuff and clean partly refurbished rooms - this place is first choice. I did not like Beirut that much for the city is dirty and not nice to look at. But the people are wonderful and life is easy though not... more

Not the luxury option but a perfectly fine typical faded budget hotel that hasnt had much done to it since the 70s. Clean and easy going though. Location is great right in the centre of the buzz in Hamra. Similar to other hotels in the area. more

I just spend 10 nights in this hotel. Yes, this is a basic hotel and if you are willing to overlook stained walls and dated, green and gold curtains then this place is just fine. The staff are really friendly and easy going, housekeeping do a great job cleaning the room and the locaton is really central. Overall the place... more

I stayed here for 3 nights in April 2009. Paid $43 per night and the owner threw in a decent breakfast because I asked her to. There is a new building going up that made morning sleep difficult, yes, but all knowing travellers have earplugs for this, yes? Eventually, I moved down the street to the Marble Tower because of... more

I stayed for three nights starting from December 31st. They charged me double the rates advertised on Tripadvisor. The first thing that tipped me off about what was to come was when I was told that I had to pay the entire amount in cash. I didn't. Anyway, the double room was mediocre clean, but the top bed cover appeared... more

One of the nicest budget hotels I've stayed in over the last few years. Really close to everything. Easy to find and really clean. My room had a nice balcony overlooking the street and its busy cafes. Staff is very easy going. It's a good place to stay in if you want somewhere central while you visit the city and... more
