No matter what it advertises, this Movenpick is not passionately Swiss. Sometimes the staff was friendly, prompt, and helpful. At other times it seemed as though they just couldn't be bothered. This attitude affected things ranging from my car to the airport--no one knew anything, to the stopped up sink, to the laundry delivered after 10PM, to the food service... more

Loved Movenpick in Beirut, and I look forward to returning...it may very well be the best fitness center/spa/health center in Beirut? Lovely steam, sauna, complex...very nice pool, and private beach...food is very good and service Excellent...rooms with beautiful sea view, and clean fluffy beds. more

We were given two connected rooms, and were suppose to stay for 5 days. We checked out the following day. Stained carpets and smelly toilets with insects crwaling made me sick all day. They apologized and suggested that they give me another cleaner room, but the one night experience put me off totally. more

The hotel is clean The breakfast was excellent and pool is the reason we chose this hotel. But the pool boys want tipping all the time otherwise the service is slow, Beirut works by who tips the most, Also there should be a kids free zone for guest who want to chill by the pool without all the screaming kids... more

I've stayed here on two trips to Beirut and highly recommend it. It's a big complex right on the seafront slightly out of the town center. But you can still easily walk to neighborhoods such as Hamra and Verdun, as well as along the corniche to the pigeon rocks. It's very much a Swiss hotel and doesn't have any middle... more

My husband has been working In Beirut on and off for over a year and I was finally convinced to go with him. Although I felt uncomfortable around the town I really have to recommend the Hotel. On the sea it has its own beach which was being refurbished while I was there. Where to begin . . . Rooms... more

We stayed for 3 nights med-Feb 06 on a break from Cyrpus. A superb hotel that is worthy of its 5* rating. Beautiful decor, very helpful staff and great luxuary all round. The fitness area and indoor swimming pool are of the highest quality, with a large number of machines, plenty of TV screens etc and lots of staff to... more

We stayed here with our two young children in the height of the summer season. We stayed for about four days, as we were actually staying in West Beirut with family for the bulk of our vacation, but wanted some beach time. The pool area is really great for families, the bar and restaurant had good service, and though the... more
