I stayed at Mayflower at the beginning of December this year (2009) for 3 nights during my trip to Beirut. The location is very central, just one block to the main street (Hamra street). It's a 4 stars hotel but don't expect too much of it, it's just a standard 4 stars hotel. I don't say it was a bad... more

This is a nostalgic contribution for the Mayflower - a hotel that I stayed in regularly each year (for a week or more) between 1997 and 2006. It was first recommended to me by a friend who lived close by in Ain El Mreisse, chosen for its excellent location in the Hamra district, but also close enough to reach friends,... more

We stayed one night in a suite on the 7th floor. It had a large sitting room, a big twin bedded room and a very large jacuzzi bathroom all very clean and nicely decorated and spotless. There was a large balcony overlooking the bustling streets below. The bar/pub was open util 12 midnight and was a traditional English style pub... more

I stayed at the Mayflower for three time, first time in 1999. And I´m sure, when I go back to Beirut, I´ll choose the Mayflower again. Located in the Hamra District it is just a stone's throw away from the Rue Hamra with its many shopping opportunities and not too far from the Raouche and from Downtown Beirut. The staff... more

This is a hotel split into two residential parts of very different standards. One part is run down with rooms which are very tired, dated and a bit cramped. The other half of the hotel, facing the main road, is even worse! The rooms are awful, very run down, very dated and certainly not worth the money. Iguess that is... more

This is one of the worst surprises I have ever had. This hotel is a total scam. It gives you the impression that it is a 4 stars hotel, where it is actually barely a two stars. The hotel/rooms photos you see on the website have nothing to do with reality. I actually wonder which hotel they got these photos... more

This was the second year in a row that I stayed at the Mayflower, and I'll stay again -- it's no fancy hotel, but those are available elsewhere in Beirut if I wanted it. That's not what I want. The Mayflower is kind of like a family, with its good and bad -- If you're a friendly sort yourself, you... more

Even though it is never equivalent to a four star in Europe or America it offers good amenities including a small pool and OK service in a great location. It's good if you want to explore Central Beirut's burstling Muslim quarter, Hamra. The staff is reserved and parking is difficult but the rest is definitely worth the rate. more

We stayed at the Mayflower Hotel for three nights and found it an ideal place to stay in Beirut. The front counter staff was professional and helpful throughout our stay. The rooms were a bit dated and worn, but they were comfortable. There was a nice (but small) pool on the top floor. There were also a few nice sitting... more

The Mayflower offers a totally unacceptable level of service. I stayed there with a friend for a few days in August and these are just some examples of bad service: - arrived at about 3.45am and the room was not ready until about 5.15am, it was a long journey and having to sit at reception at that hour of the... more
