This is not a five star hotel but offers fair value for money taking into consideration the higher cost of hotels in Oman. It is located next to the Grand Hyatt and as a previous reviewer has said one is able to use the Hyatt pool and fitness centre. The staff are helpful and friendly and the attitude overall is good. Transport is either hired car or taxi ( 7 omr from the airport where there is a taxi desk just outside arrivals). It is easy to walk along the beach to the intercontinental hotel where there is a small shopping complex with resturants and other shops. We did this in the dark and it appears to be very safe. Oman is cooler in the winter months ( it was 43- 48 C when we visited with very high humidity and this can be problem ) Driving is of a good standard and the traffic is not too bad although we had a problem obtaining a decent map. There is not really a cafe culture and alcohol is only available in hotels ( we visited during ramadan). more
