I stayed at the Hotel 22Mar- 28Mar'09 This was a Holiday Inn property earlier, but now it has changed to Muscat Holiday hotel. It is very well mainteined and has very good service. The gym is great and very good even for beginers as well for the fitest guys around. It has a nice arial view of the city. more

Stayed in hotel for 3 nights with wife and 2 brothers. Good location and close to a number of good places to eat. Excellent service from staff at the hotel. Rooms were large and very clean. The hotel itself was fine although the TV reception in the rooms was terrible. The main problem was in the main restaurant. The staff seemed to be untrained and ran around like headless chickens. There was an extensive breakfast buffet but, on the first day, the only eggs were boiled. I later found that one could ask for an alternative... more

I found this hotel quite old and as other people have said, slow checkin and checkout and unfriendly staff. The rooms were in desperate need of remodeling. Bed was old and needed to be replaced. Unfortunately, I had to stay there for three nights... Most of negative comments can be confirmed. Concerning the strange smell, apparently, nobody listend to the noise (Psshht) every minute and looked up: In the bathroom, above the toilet AND in the entrance above the door to the bathroom are installed these automatic spray engines as used in public toilets... they... more

Overall the hotel was just okay. (With the exception of one staff member), the service was unfriendly, the food there is terrible, and the building is pretty shabby. They were generous with the free baskets of fruit and bottles of booze though....... and the room was comfortable, but despite the low rate: 40 Omani rials, I would never go back. more

Have stayed here many times. It is probably not the very best hotel in Muscat, but the staff are very friendly, the atmosphere homely, and it feels very welcoming. Some of the larger places in town are too anonymous, and impersonal, I especially like the pool at the Holiday Inn, and Churchill's the pub, there is also a sports bar.... more

I would describe this hotel as 'standard' compared to a hotel in England. Certainly not luxurious in any way. The restaurant would be less misleading if it were called a 'cafe'-not a place where you would dress for dinner.We did not even go in it for lunch or dinner as it was so shabby and out of date.Stear clear of... more
