Recently stayed in Afamia in an executive room for about 4 nights. The location is quite good but the rooms are now a bit shabby. Cleaniness is an issue as the entire hotel is now quite depleted and not kept clean. I was particularly distressed by the quality of the daily cleaning service in the rooms. I found it below... more

Had booked a 3-bed executive room in advance without problem by e-mail. Room was Ok and quite with Sat-TV, fridge. Bathroom was clean and well maintained. Breakfast room was looking for a refurbishment with breakfast to consider as just OK. However this couldbe that this was our 1st hotel in Syria. Hotel is located in a central , but quite... more

The hotel is centrally located, in walking distance from old city. We had a renovated room with a balcony. Hotel is very clean, and staff were very friendly : they helped us making a telephone call in Arabic to sort out some difficulties with a booking elsewhere. Breakfast was better than in other similarly priced hotels elsewhere in Syria. Not... more

The room we had was small, but very clean, with classy decor. It was reasonable value for the 55 Euros per night we paid, which included a decent breakfast and free wi-fi. The only problem we had was with laundry. We asked them to wash between 4 and 6 kg of clothes, none of which were to be ironed, and... more

Not very fancy, but a great quality price. Near old town (walking distance) Rooms are clean, and quiet. A very good option if you don't want to spend a lot of money and get a decent place to rest. more

The hotel is in a quiet, central location right behind the main post office and easy walking distance to most of the cities attractions Our room was small and simply furnished but comfortable. There was a small balcony, a fridge, an air conditioning unit and satellite television. The bathroom was small but in good condition. Staff were helpful and friendly.... more

My girlfriend and I originally wanted to book one of the boutique hotels in Damascus but unfortunately they were all full. So we ended up getting the executive room at Afamia. Although disappointed for not getting any of our preferred hotels we were very much satisfied with Afamia. I have to say, the breakfast was much below average and the... more

Stayed 2 nights in this hotel. Very central location. Room was on the small size, but clean with good plumbing. Very friendly staff. Had an early checkout but hotel was able to give us breakfast before the usual opening time. Would definately stay here again. more

Much better than I expected at this price range. Wassim was friendly and helpful on reception as were all the other staff. Room (Executive) was clean, the bed was comfortable and the TV had good reception. Breakfast was a little disappointing due to a limited range but for the price and the location (5 mins) to the Old City this... more
