We just spent one night here but swear to return in the future. Location excellent- right in the old city. Peaceful, serene courtyard- immediately offered refreshments on arrival. Room very clean with surprising luxuries (towel warmer) and local soaps and shampoos and chocolates brought in at night. Very friendly staff (all English speaking). The best part of it all was... more

We spent 4 nights of our honeymoon here, 2 of which were in the Ottoman Suite. It was incredible. The service in the hotel was first class and the breakfasts were absolutely delicious. I don't think I have ever seen a room as fantastic as the Ottomoan Suite and staying in it certainly was a once in a lifetime experience. more

The office is in the courtyard where all rooms face so you get to hear every phone call, every complaint, every visitor and early morning departure for the airport. Even with ear plugs the noise was too much as the courtyard couches literally lay in front of the room windows. Though we stayed for four days and asked to be... more

We stayed in Beit Al Mamlouka in Damascus before and after our trip to Aleppo, so we saw two of the interestingly and individually styled, comfortable rooms with good bathrooms and fleecy towels surrounding the attractive courtyard. The restoration has been sensitively done. The location is superb for exploring the old city. Breakfast, served indoors in a very pleasant room,... more

I had long wished to visit Damascus and stay in this boutique hotel so it has been a dream come true. My room was cozy, the staff very helpful and overall I just had a lovely experience. We stayed here for 4 nights and absolutely loved this hotel. It has charater by the bucket load, the courtyard and rooms are beautiful, staff are very helpful and friendly and the breakfast was excellent (rose jam... yum). I thought the transfer to the airport at $40 each way was way overpriced but other than that our stay couldn't have... more

This hotel is an oasis of calm and luxury in the heart of the hurly burly of the Old City. It was delightful to escape the heat in its cool, shady courtyard or to return from the souks to its tastefully decorated rooms. It is a charming place. We stayed for three nights in May and would highly recommend it.... more
