We stayed here for 3 nights, and loved the setting, the hotel and our beautiful room (117) on the first floor. However, my son has contacted severe food poisoning from something he ate there on his last night and is still very unwell a week after the meal. It has completely ruined his holiday as he has spent the last... more

This hotel is an experience, not a 5* American chain...do not expect vast bathrooms, and all the trimmings. But you will get a 'Damascene' experience, beautiful courtyards and Syrian hospitality. The location is superb, in the busy ''Çhristian"quarter with many good restaurants in striking distance. more

Stayed in the Dar Al Yasmin for four nights in Damascus, and it was lovely. It's one of the most unusual hotels I have ever stayed in. The rooms itself are in two converted courtyards and are beautifully decorated. The staff were lovely and very helpful and arranged a taxi for myself and my friend to Bosra and then onto... more

We were disappointed with Dar Al Yasmin - the staff were surly, the bathroom was minute, two of the bedroom lights weren't working, and like others who have written reviews, I got violently ill. Unless you can't avoid it - don't stay there. more

Damascus, in general, is quite an experience - CULTURE SHOCK! The hotel, which describes itself as a boutique hotel, has a certain charm. The staff attempt to be helpful, but it is important to book for yourself, and not use any intermediaries, as you may find yourself paying a little bit more. The location is good for the old town,... more

Although was not recommended to stay there, we booked to stay there 2 nights for what were quite high prices for the service we eventually received. The manager and assistant were affable and kind but the owners were heartless and rude. Ordered room service on the 1st night of soup and shawarma and within 3 hours of eating experianced the... more

Well ... of course there is this interesting taste of 'an old damascene house lost in the maze of the old city streets'. But let us be very clear: paying 150 USD + taxes per night for such limited service is definitely not acceptable, even in this part of the wolrd. I cannot think of such excessive prices for such... more

We stayed in Dar al Yasmin for four nights but were very disappointed in the service, especially from the manager Simon Dabbas whose attitude was often rude and offensive. We moved rooms within the hotel a couple of times but in each room, there was a problem with the bathroom - it would typically get flooded by the use of... more

A lovely calm place in Damascus old town. The hotel is bult around two courtyards which are very relaxing after a day of sightseeing. Rooms are nicely decorated, although they could be cleaner. Breakfast is good (served in the courtyard) and the staff are incredibly pleasant. In general good value (but do bargain on the price - they quoted USD160... more

Enjoyed two nights at this hotel, which is in such a calm setting and in a great part of Damascus. Breakfast was nice and there are some really nice restaurants in the Christian Quarter and a short walk away so that was good for eating and drinking in the evenings. We felt a bit annoyed that they charged $20 for... more
