Well known among most travel agents and expats in Yemen, Burj Al Salam was once an undiscovered a jewel in the Old City of Sanaa. Recently it has been 'discovered' by more people, and unfortunately this has led to a drop in standards and increase in prices. If you can get past the less than stellar food options, this is... End December, I stayed 5 nights at Burj Al Salam. Two mornings, I didn't have any water in my room. No way to take a shower nor brush my teeth. We were only two customers in hotel, nobody offered me the possiblility to use the bathroom in an other room, the only answer was "there is a link which affect... More

I stayed at this hotel with some of my colleagues for a period of 5 days and during my entire stay I did not find anything to complain about this place. The location is great. We had booked a suite. It was clean, spacious enough and well maintained. I could get a beautiful view of the outside from our room.... More

The hotel is in a typical old stone house in a good location right in the middle of old Sana'a. The building has been sympathetically converted to a hotel so that it retains a lot of traditional character and rooms have traditional Yemeni furniture made of carved dark wood. On the 7th and 8th floors (there is a lift) there... More

I enjoyed my stay at the hotel very much. Like other visitors, I think the views from the roof are quite wonderful, and the roof, along with the location, is what makes the hotel such a good choice. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. The rooms, however, are small, and the bathrooms tiny. The rooms in the suites... More

I stayed at the hotel in April after a friend told me about it. My expectations were not very high. I wanted to stay in a small hotel that was locally owned and would display the most possible way of the Yemeni lifestyle. The hotel has a great location. A small roof bar where you can smoke shisha at night.... More

I booked this hotel because I heard good reputations on trip advisor but it was a good choice indeed! The scene from my hotel room was just beautiful. It's like a dream to see that magnificant view from your room and this hotel has a nice terrace on the top where you can enjoy meals while enjoying the unforgetable scenery.... More

The other reviews have it spot on: the staff is great and eager to make your stay wonderful, the location cannot be beat and the athmosphere is unique. The rooftop restaurant has amazing views and is probably one of the best sunset spots in Sanaa. There are cons but none of them puts the hotel at fault: - water pressure... More

Well... I have chosen this hotel after reading comments on the tripadvisor. Anyway in some aspects it was a mistake. The only good thing one can say about Burj al Salaam is the location- in the center of the Old Town in Sanaa. If I should reccommend this hotel I should remain silence about all other things. First of all-... More
