I stayed here 3 nights, on the recommendation of this board, but felt the hotel's alleged rustic and colonial charms were overshadowed by the mosquitoes, the occasional cockroach and general antiquity of the place. Traveling all over South America and we lucked out finding Asuncion Palace. Located near the presidential residence and walking distance to everything downtown. My step daughter is a Peace Corps Volunteer in Paraguay. We stayed at the Palace after spending several days in her rural community.
