I have yet to meet anybody who likes going to Port Moresby - it is a resolutely unloveable city - but most of us have to travel through it in order to get to the good parts of Papua New Guinea. My solution to this problem: wonderful Loloata Island, a mere 30-40 minutes by bus (they'll pick you up) and... More

Paradise spot but the sailing boards were broken, the food was mediocre and the staff didn't really respond to our inquiries. The snorkeling trip to lion island is nice. If you want to be secluded and still within a 1 hour reach from POM (Port Moresby) then this is the place to go. There were many divers who told us... More

There are many good hotels in Port Moresby but there is only one Loloata Island!! The friendliness of the staff and the pristine location of the island in Bootless Bay does not leave much room for a better place to relax and get away from the he:ctic city. If you expect a television in your room you are in the... More

After almost 3 weeks of exploring different parts of PNG we decided to end our vacation in a serene and safe location near Port Moresby. Out tour company suggested Loloata resort and it was as perfect as we could wish for. Secluded sandy beach, short walks, snorkeling (on Lion's island nearby), animals and birds. We had a nice room with... More

If you are looking for somewhere in Port Moresby to chill out and relax then you need to go to Loloata Island Resort. A short boat ride and you are in another world of crystal clear water, palm trees, tree wallabies and quiet. While daytrips are available if you are overnighting you will arrive around 3pm and have breakfast lunch... More

Port Moresby can be a hell hole! But without doubt, it takes only 40 minutes to get away from it all! Loloata Island Resourt is not the most luxuary resort, nor is iot cheap, but there is no cheap place arout Port Moresby. What makes it special is the setting and the people! First class!

This is a great get-away-from-Moresby destination. A short 30 minute car trip to the wharf, another short boat ride to the resort, and you can spend the day relaxing with a nice buffet lunch. There are wallabies to watch, and even the odd sea snake - slow moving and harmless if left alone, don't bother them and they won't bother... More

Loloata is about 2 1/2 stars if you are lucky but the ambience makes up for the less than comfortable rooms. If it wasn't for the people that come across for the day trip the place would be even better. The daily invasion of Filipino and Indian construction workers and their families to picnic or just use the facilities makes... More

This is the second time I went to Loloata. I enjoyed our snorkelling and of course the food. Some setbacks were noticed too, as well as the good. - We were provided with not good smelling pillows. The other rooms which were occupied by our friends had good pillows. - The water pressure in our toilet was so low but... More
