Ah Kinshasa Kinshasa Kinshasa. What can you say?!?!?! The Memling is an unparallelled rip off with sloppy service and poor food. In any normal country it wold be lucky to get three starts. However, it is in Kinshasa and I dare you to find any better. On the plus side they do seem to keep most of the the working... more

Right in the middle of it all, the lobby packed with pleasure-treasures for one night. See that you get a room key that works or it will not just be cockroches visiting you without being asked in ! more

The service was excellent when we arrived on Sunday, Kinshasa was very quiet and so was the foyer. The service was excellent. Ate Samosas in the bar - $11 for 6. Beer $5. Wifi $30 for 24 hours. The room was comfortable 3 star Econolodge/Best Western style room @ $200 per night and a 500cl bottle of water was $3.50... more

So far I can only compare the Memling Kinshasa and the Grand Hotel Kinshasa. Memling is way better. Memling rooms are actually 5 star rooms, GH is rather 3 star in European standards. Service in Memling is excellent - no complains whatsoever... If you need to stay over the weekend it is important to know that even on Saturday nights... more

I've now stayed in Kinshasa hotels several times. I now choose the Memling each time, much higher standards then the Grand Hotel. Breakfast is expensive (at $27) but good and there's plenty of it. Only complaint would be trying to pay by cash, staff can go silly over microscopic tears in dollar notes...polite but daft! I booked a taxi to... more

I stayed in this hotel from 17-June to 20-June on a business trip. I had read other people's review and thought maybe they were unfortunate to have those kinds of experiences on their stays and mine would be a whole lot better. I knew I was in for a bad experience upon arrival when I was told that the person... more

Must say I was slightly positively surprised -- to the better from have had read TA reviews. The lobby section looks OK, actually in line with any Holiday Inn/Ibis equivalence. The rooms are perhaps on par with 1-2* European/US standards. Assume though I should be a bit humble judging from overall C-K standards. Can endorse previous reviewers feedback as well... more

On my first visit to DRC, I tried to book a 4 night stay and they informed me that they could only accept me for 2 nights. I asked if they would put me on a waiting list, in case of cancellations, they seemed to be unaware of such an idea! The check in clerk was simply rude from start... more

Please stay away from Memling..!, look for cheaper hotels in Kinshasa. First, it is expensive (breakfast not included) and doesn’t provide the comfort you paid for. First surprise, I asked for the keys of the mini bar (strange that it was locked), I was told I should pay 50 dollars deposit, non sense. Second, I wanted to go to the... more

I stayed there for one night as my usual place (Residence Voyageur) was full for that specific night. What really got me angry was that there was no courtesy bottled water in the room: I felt it was a violation of my human dignity considering (1) the high price for the room, (2) the hot and humid climate in Kinshasa... more
