This was my second trip to the Republic of Congo and I once again stayed at the LeMeridien. This hotel did survive the civil war but just by a wee bit. The rooms are run down and the furnishings old, wornout, and dirty. The double bed is two singles with a mattress thrown over them but no springs. You sink into a heads up, feet up position with a ridegeline down the middle. Pillows are smelly and dirty.... more

...but I don't think you are going to find a better hotel in Brazzaville! The lounge/lobby and downstairs common area is fairly comfortable -- small tables set up with waiters available to serve drinks and light meals.The actual "average" room in the hotel deviates majorly from the room shown on the website -- see the attached pictures.
