OK so this hotel may not have the bells and whistles of some of Seoul's flashier establishments but it doesn't have the price tag of those places either. The rooms have the basics and you do get a fridge which the hotel stocks with free water and soft drinks. It's clean and comfortable, in an excellent location - next to... more

This hotel at approximately $90 USD is very over-priced. If you feel more confortable with your first night booked then using sites like Expedia and Travelocity will do for night one. However, you can find hotels at least one star better for 10% less cost booking locally. As for the Astoria, the staff is quite good at this star rating... more

I arrived a bit before check-in feeling a bit ill from some food poisoning (thank you, hotel Ak Altyn, Turkmenistan!). The staff very graciously allowed me to check and proceed direct to my room with a minimum of fuss and an outpouring of what passed for genuine compassion - which maybe if you're a cute-looking 14 year old you may... more

Well priced and well positioned. Near Namsan mountain and the Korean village where there are performances and traditional housing. Myong Dong shopping area within walking distance. Restaurants are nearby. There is a nightclub/karaoke bar on the 2nd floor that blasts music throughout the night and can sometimes be heard from the rooms above. At the time we have been at... more

This hotel by far is the worst I have ever stayed in while visiting Seoul. Although it is close to Myung-Dong and other sites, the hotel is old, dirty, noisy and has terrible service. There is a nightclub/karaoke bar on the 2nd floor that blasts music throughout the night and can be heard from the rooms above. The walls are... more

Great value for INCREDIBLE location. Very close to Namsan (which has cable cars and Seoul Tower) and on the same block as a little traditional Korean village area (beautiful park). Myeong Dong is very close, which after 5 weeks in Seoul..is my very favorite spot. Hotel staff was extraordinary. Room was clean and comfortable. more

There were many positives: the service was immaculate (desk staff donated chunks of time to helping us with plane tickets, taxis, tours, etc)-- one gentleman even paid for our plane tickets on his credit card in order for us to use a Korean website (we of course paid him back); the location is a 5-minute walk from the airport shuttle... more

We stayed at the Astoria for a week and had a wonderful time. The rooms are very spacious and the staff was extremly helpful and friendly. The location was excellent in order to explore the city. We were lucky the get a room with a great view to the top of the mountain behind the hotel. We will stay there... more

Well priced and well positioned. The hotel provides a free shuttle from the airport shuttle across the road. A short walk to the bus stop for the hop on hop off bus. Near Namsan mountain and the Korean village where there are performances and traditional housing. Asian or Western breakfast available. Myong Dong shopping area within walking distance. Restaurants nearby.... more

We booked the hotel going by guest comments! Happy to say it was a good choice. Excellent location, clean and comfortable room, even free drinking water in the fridge. Only problem we had was about b'fast, free for one guest in a double room when our booking said Double BedRoom- breakfast included. Manager was a very nice man who issued us... more
