The room was quite nice and the food was fine. Don't be fooled by the "nile view" from the swimming pool. This very small pool actually overlooks a busy main road and then the nile is after that. We lucked out at this hotel because for us it had everything that we needed including a large varied breakfast (both Egyptian and Western choices), a shuttle to the city center (Maadi is about 15 minutes away by car/taxi), a swimming pool, and a view of the Step and Red Pyramids. This hotel is close to the sights and sounds of the city. Sometimes at night, the traffic can get a little noisy which makes it hard to settle down but then that's a price you pay for being in the heart of the city.
