I was highly impressed by the honesty of the room cleaners. I st ayed in room 602 for 6 nights from 6th to 13th July 2008. On 8th July, while rushing to Al Magrabi eye hospital for an eye surgery I left a lot of money on my bed, while the lady cleaner was by the door waiting for my... more

Unfortunately we only spent two nights in this hotel - one at each end of our stay in Egypt. It is a four star hotel -" four star by Egyptian standards", I forwarned our group of travellers from North America, used to expecting better from four stars here. But this charming place did not disappoint. As long as you can... more

I stayed at maadi hotel from the 7th aug 07 midnight arrival to the 11th aug 07, with a late checkout an hour past noon. Upon arrival everything was ready and waiting for me.Service from the receoption was swift and polite, i didnt have to stand and wait. My luggage which was on the large size was taken up to... more

The hotel lobby looked ok but had a terrible cigarrete smell. The lift up to my room seemed pretty new, so I kept my fingers crossed hoping my room would be good. Once the door was opened, my heart sank! The door latch wasn't working, the fridge wasn't working and the tv wasn't working. The toilet was horrendous and the... more

The Maadi is an OK hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great view from rooftop. Rooms clean and tidy. The pool is not the cleanest but was fine. The food was not great. Breakfast was a bit grim but lunch and dinner were Ok - but very slow. Location is a bit far from centre of cairo but safe and... more

I dont know how the hotel manage to get 4 stars because the place is a little tired and the stale smell from the carpet just makes you miserable after a while. We stayed at the 14th floor for 1 night and it was really bad. everything was literally in pieces and we were lucky we were just really tired.... more

o.k, I don't like to be negative but this place was a shocker. Being a 4 star hotel we expected some standards. Not only is Maadi old and rundown but it's just plain dirty ! The room wasn't a bad size but was very basic and the reception on the T.V was appalling. The bathroom wasn't clean (just grubby -... more

I utilized their concierge service for dry cleaning of a $3000 Italian loveseat cushion. It was returned to me shrunk by 12 inches leaving a HUGE gap in it's setting! I returned it to them and they offered to stretch it. I obliged, however this did not make much difference. Hotel management was RUDE, ARROGANT, AND DISRESPECTFUL when confronted with... more

Cairo is a different world, the mixture of new and old customs is everywhere. We stayed in the Maadi Hotel in Maadi which is in the south of Cairo. The hotel was very clean, sparce but clean, the rooms were not big but large enough that we didn't feel cramped. The beds were made up each day with clean linen... more
