Beautiful hotel, foyer area is nothing short of palatial. Rooms very comfortable with two big singles or a king size bed and views overlooking the Nile (and possibly the Pyramids if you're lucky!) Food was excellent, wide choice of restaurants catering for all, some open 24 hours a day for the midnight-munchies! Staff were all very friendly, although their English... more

From the time I checked in from the time I checked out, there were problems. (1) The room as small and old. Stained carpet, an old extra bed with terrible mattress. (2) No facilities to make your own coffee or tea; so I had to pay EGP 11 for hot water. (3) The bathroom wasn't cleaned properly. The amenities were... more

The hotel is beautiful and the location lovely. However, since the alcohol ban the restaurants have been deserted and some have closed. Tourists who expect to have an occasional drink or wine with their dinner are out of luck, Next door is a noisy, rather shoddy Hard Rock Cafe that serves beer and inferior wines. Across a busy road is... more

This was a nice stay only for 3 days. Not so many dining options though. I was surprised. Rooms on the small side and the balcony freaked me out as I didn't feel comfortable sitting out on that ledge/slab of concrete jutting out so high up! But great view of the Nile. The concierge helped us get a good guide... more

Stayed on the 14 and 15th May and again on the 23rd May, first stay was excellent and was upgraded to a suite, second stay a couple of problems with the air con and noise from a function at the hotel across the Nile - however the room changes were dealt with efficiently and with positive attitude at all times... more

I went to stay at the Grand Hyatt last month as I am organising an event this month for 70 people. The hotel is great with a fantastic view and lovely bedrooms with balconies. A word of warning, I have just been informed, without warning, that the hotel has implemented a no alcohol sold policy within the hotel's bars and... more

We had a great stay here, our bed room was clean and comfortable, but otherwise unremarkable, the bathroom was very nice. we were on the seventeenth floor overlooking the pool. The hotel staff were very attentive and helpful, the facilities were good and as mentioned in many other reviews the lobby was quite spectacular. We had no complaints whatsoever and... more

This hotel is a great place to hang out. The restaurants are all good; I particularly liked the Nubian Village. Pool and health club are very nice and refreshing after a day of sightseeing. Club on the 30th floor serves excellent appetizers. Rooms are clean and have great views. Lobby has a bank that is open 24 hours. Breakfast in... more

March 3, 2008: Our group of 12 from Honolulu spent 6 nights, enjoying not only the vast amenities of restaurants, galleria-style shopping, and attentive services, but also the wonderful beds and jaw-dropping views from every room from the expansive balconies. We used the hotel as a base coming and going to Luxor, Aswan, Istanbul, and Jordan. Although the hotel barely... more
