Excellent location. The hotel has an atmosphere of ancient times. The rooms are basic and the bathroom is rundown though tolerable. We really had a wonderful stay at the Lotus. Excellent location. Just beside the Egyptian Museum and the river Nile. In the city centre. Heart of the shopping area, the restaurants and theatres. I went to the Lotus at the end of March after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor. The reviews were spot on. Yes it is basic but it is excellent value for money (£10 per night) for the convienent location and the friendliness of the staff. I have stayed at the Lotus Hotel 4 times, 2002,2003,2004, and June 2005. The Lotus is a basic hotel, very clean, very friendly staff at a very fair price. I would reccomend it. It;'s location is ideal, being central to the River Nile. The Egyptian Museum is close by, and the metro station is only 5 minute walk away. more

We where treated like family,shown Cairo and had a wonderful time. Excellent value for money and a lovely atmosphere. Will be back next year with new baby!!! more
