This hotel comprises value for money with the addition of helpful staff. If you want top end, go top end, but if you want people who genuinely care about your comfort and needs in Cairo, this is the place for you. Its central location means you can get to anywhere from here, specially Islamic Cairo, the Museum and all your... More

Four of us were able to stay in a room for $12 American/each per night. Not a luxury hotel, but very welcoming. Sheets were clean & good quality. Reception, (ask for Emad) was helpful and answered all questions. The restaurant provided good food at a reasonable price and Mohammed, the waiter was gracious. The men and women caring for the... We weren't expecting much and we weren't disappointed! We were put in a dirty room, but were moved to a better room when we complained. I wouldn't stay there again or recommend it to anyone, but if you have a very restricted buddget and want to be in this part of Cairo I guess you may find it OK. As... More

Like most hotels in downtown Cairo, the Lotus has been around for a while and has the feel of an earlier time. Which is to say, it is not the most modern facility, but makes up for that by providing a level of helpful staff that has become very rare in budget hotels. We stayed for several days, and liked... Clean, very friendly and helpful staff. But this is a place to stay only if you are really trying to budget. None of the bathrooms have shower curtains, so the water gets all over the bathroom floor and sits there all day. "Continental breakfast" did not include the price for eggs and juice (aka-you get nickled and dimed there). You... More

Nice old hotel with a history. It has 50 rooms and 100 beds so it's unlikely that you won't find a place there. It is 6th to the 9th floors of a building but the elevator works. Really friendly and helpful staff. Big rooms with big balconies. Retro feeling which still lives. More

A handy location to many places. Rooms are clean, comfortable and staff are helpful. Is in a bustling part of town so a bit of traffic but not too bad on noise for sleeping. A cute place that is good value for money. More

I was very pleased with the Lotus. It cost $22 per night which was right in my budget. The hotel and rooms were very clean. As a woman traveling alone it was wonderful to feel safe and be treated so well by the staff. The staff and managment were not only friendly but very kind. I became ill on my... More

My wife and I stayed here while travelling down to Australia via several countries. We were trying to do it on a budget without roughing it too much. We had just travelled via coach feom the Red Sea at Sharm El Sheik and were tired. The room cost us about 12 Euros per night so we were not expecting too... More
