My room was a double, plainly furnished but very clean and comfortable. the traffic noise....well....the noise is HUGE anywhere in Cairo!, and it was Ramadan, there is a mosque just next door or just down the lane, I am sure....and....get plenty of walking... more

My husband and I stayed at Capsis Hotel which is centrally located in Cairo (near Rameses Square or 10 minutes walk from the main train sattion) which at around USD28 (rate 1US=5LE) per twin room/per night (bathroom ensuite and including breakfast), is a bargain. We chanced on this hotel while walking around Cairo. The rooms were very clean, room size was good and the cream/terra decor pleasing to the eye. On Ramses street, it is actually better poisitioned than those further in, like on Talaat Harb which is perpetually suffering from traffic jam.
