The Amarante was hospitable to me and my family...... We loved the decor in our room. The staff and security guards we friendly and the pool area is sweet but the kiddy pool is maybe for 6/7 yr not 3/5. In your room you hear nothing till your on the balcony then the sound of horns hit yah and the... More

The rooms are incredible with beautiful balconies. The swimming pool area is excellent and kept clean. Room service and restaurant also excellent. The sound of traffic is completely cut off by the smart design of the hotel. Some of the structures have seen better days and there is no interesting things within walking distance

This is definitely not a 5 star hotel. The rooms were rundown and the furniture needed a complete overhaul. While I was there the pool was being serviced so you could not chill out in the pool. From the pictures and of course the name of the hotel, lead to believe that the hotel is close to the Pyramids. WELL... More

This hotel was very quite - there didn't seem to be many tourists here but we were traveling through Egypt shortly after their revolution. And everywhere was lacking tourists including the pyramids. We did not choose to stay at this hotel - it was the starting point of an adventure world tour we were doing. But in saying that there... More

The hotel was very pleasant And quiet. The staff were nice and the Manager of the restaurants and bars , Medhat, is a lovely friendly man. We had a nice time in Cairo. The hotel was very clean and safe and has good facilities including shops, restaurants, currency exchange etc so everything is on hand. Even small convenience/ souvenir shops... More

Hotel was satisfactory but Egypt five stars is really three. Clean rooms with no frills. Needs a big refurbishment when you look not too closely. We enjoyed greatly walking around the local non-tourist streets, buying bread, water, fruit and even beer. Pool was great, only saw one other person swimming in the four days we were there. If you hope... More

We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights in march 2010. It was a nice experience , though it may not have stunning views and all.But considering the traffic in the city of cairo, we found this hotel very helpful. As it was really easier to reach many places from here. And the service was not so great, we ordered for hot... Built in the 1940s it sure could do with an overhaul(someone has sure photo shopped the pictures), tiles missing off the roofs, pideons everywhere so poop also everywhere. Nice views on the balcony but the pool waterfalls are so noisy you cant leave the windows open even. The lift had to be the worlds smallest and sounded as if it... More

It once was grand but the Internet pictures do not tell the run down truth. Close to Giza and reasonably priced. Restuarant is awful.

This rather sad place needs maintenance and a facelift. It appeared to have once been rather grand and characterful but is now just ticking over. If you want to be in the heart of the city and able to walk in the streets and explore, then it's fine, but if you need visual space then it's not for you. It's... More
