Just returned from the Mena House. The hotel is so full of history and right on top of the pyramids. The staff are very friendly and not all looking for tips. We stayed in one of the old Palace rooms over looking the large pyramid. The room itself is one of the originals and worth the extra money to stay... more

Fantastic location next to Pyramids, within walking distance. the service was very good but everyone looks for a tip, so try and get small denominations of currency. The hotel room we had was really lovely with a view of the Great Pyramid from our balcony. The food was very good. They are building another wing, but we found that the... more

We stayed in the Mena House Oberoi for the first 5 days of our honeymoon and we loved the place. Yes there is building work ongoing and we did have a complaint as we had originally been given a room in the Garden wing, which overlooked the building site that started work on Sunday morning at 07.30. The room was... more

We picked The Mena House on the reputation of the various Oberoi hotels we have stayed at in India. We stayed 4 nights in a room with a pyramid view in the new Garden Wing. The room was large and comfortable with all the amenities you expect in a 5* hotel, but the bathroom was small and with no seperate... more

Very close to the pyramids area and a very safe place to stay! You can walk to the main entrance in two minutes. Good food, very nice and cosy rooms. Nice pool area with a view to the pyramids. Polite and helpful staff. Can't fault it! Loved it! Usually choose cheaper hotels but at 930 Danish Kroner (around 180 US... more

Well, I did it again and went back to The Mena House Oberoi again this year and I have only two regrets: 1 - It was only for one week. 2 - I had to leave. Usually when you check into a hotel, as we all know, you go to the reception, tell them who you are, they look you... more

I had high expectations coming to the Mena House and sadly many of them were not met. A couple points: -We were connecting from the Oberoi Mena House to the Oberoi Philae cruise (which I highly recommend) which departed Luxor. It took a *lot* of phone calls, faxes, and emails to get the Mena house to help us arrange train... more

Stayed at the Mena House on 2 separate occasions - at the start of my holiday and at the end. At the start I stayed in a pyramid view garden room and it was fantastic - clean, great beds and a view of the pyramids from the balcony. Superb. On the second stay I was upgraded to a palace wing... more

We're just back from Egypt and spent the first 3 nights at the Mena, with a pyramid view, which was amazing. However, they are re-doing a whole section of the hotel (which is big) and despite being told the work wouldn't start until 10am and finish by 5pm, the first morning was not a good one for us as we... more

The onle thing which is 5 Star is the location, just minutes from the Pyramides. The Hotel was described as old Palace with Atmosphere. What I found was a old Palace with al lot of problems, bad maintainance, very expensive, average service, dirty pool and - the main problem - with a HUGE construction side. The booked (and payed...) "garden... more
