It´s a great Hotel to stay, it's far away from Cairo city (1 hour with traffic), but it´s one of the best hotel that we saw in Cairo. This is a resort not a city hotel, but you can stay away from the confusion and the polution that we found at the central Cairo. If you want to visit Cairo,... more

Although it takes about 20' to the pyramids and about 1hr to the center of the city of Cairo (due to ever existing traffic jams) this location in the "6th of october"-suburb of Cairo is for sure an excellent location for your stay near Cairo, and you can stay longer than a few days to enjoy the swimming pools without... more

Movenpick really have to take a long hard look at what's going on in this hotel. I can only concur with the dog observations made by a previous reviewer. the problem is that money talks - and someone (a Gulf Prince?) is paying Movenpick a lot of money to keep him and his entourage of lackies, cronies and bodyguards in... more

I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. There are dogs kept on the complex that are walked at the pool area off of leads where children are playing. the dogs were allowed to foul the grass and it was left. The service is terrible and the food cold. this hotel is not up to movenpick standards. more

We stayed at the Movenpick for one night as part of a two-day tour of Cairo. Although our stay was short we couldn't help but compare our surroundings to those of those in our four-star hotel in Sharm-El-Sheik. As a consequence we couldn't help wishing out hotel was a little more like the Movenpick! Our room was great with a... more

This hotel is huge and posh - I found none of the cleanliness/construction problems the earlier review mentioned (maybe we were in a different cluster or it is completed?). It did seem to be fairly empty which was a bit creepy considering the amount of staff. It is also not close to Cairo (they have a shuttle that goes downtown... more

The hotel is a long way from the centre of Cairo, some 30km, and is isolated in the middle of a development area. A free shuttle-bus runs to the city-centre,via the pyramids, several times daily and this is very useful. If you miss the return, and I did, a cab ride back will be charged at about LE60 but give the man... more

I've just returned home after a two week holiday in Egypt, four days of which were spent at the Moevenpick Media City Hotel. It was not a pleasant experience. I was travelling with my two sisters, one of whom had booked a single room. When we first arrived at the hotel we were delighted. It looked absolutely gorgeous, and our... more
