We stayed here for 3 nights and couldn't have been more pleased. The location on the quieter West Bank is fantastic, only 10 minutes round the corner from the public ferry landing and you get the feeling of living somewhere much more "local". Rooms didn't have amenities some might want e.g. TV, but you're in Luxor and should be too... more

It is very convenient for all amenities: local shops, cafe's, stables for camel and horse riding. From the secure peaceful surroundings of the Hotel you step straight into the local life . The main street leads to the monuments on the West Bank. It is a pleasant stroll to the Ferry with wonderful views of the Nile. The Hotel is... more

We came to Sheherazade in late September with our family of three young children. It was much more than what we had hoped for! After having spent a hectic time in Cairo, we were looking forward to spending time away from the big city and relaxing a bit more and that's what we were able to do. We were warmly... more

This was probably my favorite hotel I stayed at in Egypt. Lots of pros 1. Location - This hotel is nestled in a local community and you can mingle with the Egyptians. I loved being able to walk to the local market and get some fresh fruit I cannot get in the states. We rented bikes from the local shops... more

We stayed for just two nights in this little jewel of a place on the west bank of the Nile in Luxor, Egypt. It had everything we value most in a hotel: it is small, locally owned, family run, full of friendly, eager-to-please local staff, with good ability to communicate in English. It has only been open for about a... more

We decided to pick this hotel for our Silver Wedding Anniversary based on the previous comments and if we hadn't seen TripAdvisor we might have missed this fantastic hotel. The first thing you will probably look at on the reviews page is the average price. Don't be fooled by the low price. This place is better than ones over on... more

This hotel was a hidden gem. Nice clean rooms decorated in keeping with Egyptian tradition. People were very helpful and friendly especially with my mother. Food and drinks very reasonably priced. Location on the West bank side is great as you get to experience life of the locals who were equally friendly and unlike the East bank side is more... more

We arrived early in the morning on the overnight train from Cairo. After battling with taxi drivers, we finally arrived at the hotel, not sure if we could get in the room so early. The owner was very nice. He let us in the room and then offered to drive us himself so we wouldn't have to deal with any... more

We had a great time there. The owner, Christine is very friendly.Rooms are huge, nice and clean. Late check out for fee of charge is possible. Boys, who are working there are very helpful. I can only say good things about this hotel. If you are looking for a quiet, safe place to stay, Sheherazade is the place for you. more

After ten days of doing business in Egypt, I was ready for some downtime and this is the place to unwind and relax. I took advantage of Christine’s internet June special, but owner Mohamed asked me not to publish the rate here because it was ridiculously low. I arrived to discover that I was the only guest that night, and... more
