Stayed at the Mercure in Nov '09 and I'd recommend it. Staff were superb, there's a choice of restaurants and some activities. I wanted winter sun and picked the Mercure because of it's big pool area. I'm happy to say I made the right choice. Would recommend full or half board because the hassle from street vendors makes going out... more

Stayed only one night, on a package with Ancient World Tours, as first night of a tour of the oases of the western desert. Had arrived a week earlier, and had stayed, as I have on at least 6 occasions, on the West Bank - much nicer, closer to the sites, quieter, cleaner air (those cruise ships on the Luxor... more

We stayed at this hotel for 1 night after our cruise from Aswan to Luxor, just to get a breather before we go to the Red Sea for some sun. Generally we like Luxor much better than Cairo. Hotel Mercure is centrally located and we couldn't have picked a better located hotel. However, the rooms are really dated and badly... more

On arrival after a poor flight with Thomas Cook we were able to relax as the check in was simple and room was easy to locate. We were near the pool and the majority of the time we found this to be quiet area of the hotel. A safe is provided free of charge in the the room and is... more

We stayed at The Mercure Luxor Hotel for a week in late october 2009. The 30 th of october was our first day in Luxor. We went down to the Hotel restaurant to eat breakfast for 30 minutes. After that we started to experience Luxor City. A couple of hours later we discovered that 600 LE were missing from my... more

Booked via internet last minute with Coop travel and paid £650 for two people. Jolie Ville was way too expensive(£1500 per two people) so decided to book Mercure. Only downside was we flew with Thomas Cook. Never ever ever again will I go to Luxor with them. Staff were probably ruder than Ryanair and oh my god the seat pitch... more

I stayed here in August 09 with my husband my son and a family friend. I did all the reading on her before i booked and decided that overall the feedback was good. HOW WRONG WAS I? The hotel itself is very good but i found it to be very expensive and there was little choice of food. What we... more

I have just had 14 nights in this hotel and I think it was our fourth time staying here. I chose this hotel purely because of the deal I got through Monarch Airlines. Many years ago this hotel was a very warm and welcoming place, the staff fell over themselves to be of service and were polite in every way,... more

We were on the MS Fleurette 14/09/09 then we had a week in Luxor at the Mercure from 21/09/09. We had a fantastic holiday, with African Safari Club, I can really recommend the week in Luxor add-on. The hotel is superb, it could not be in a better location, between Karnak and Luxor temples, on the Nile promenade. Perfect! Where... more
