Very nice place. The staff is very helpful. The owner Brigit and her husband are very nice and accomodating. I would stay here again. The only thing was that they have small water tanks in Egypt. So you can't fill up the tub or take a long shower. Besides that, it was nice and quite compared to Cairo. It was... more

My husband and I stayed one week at this hotel over the New Year. The location was great, a few minutes walking from the ferry landing, on the West Bank. The room was very spacious, no TV (a pleasant surprise), comfortable bed & pillows and a very good breakfast. The only issue was the noise coming from the other rooms... more

I stayed here with my best friend for several nights and used this hotel as a base from which to explor Luxor. When I look back at my Egypt trip, I have many wonderful memories but this hotel was a definite stand out. We decided to stay on the west bank to avoid the hustle of the east and this... more

It is a charming little hotel that offers a lot of value for your money. Owners are very helpful and responsive to any request to help with touring the local scenes. Can be a little hard to find and its location on the west bank means one has to take the ferry to get to Kranak and Luxor temples and... more

Situated on the west bank, el nakhil is only a short walk from the frequent public ferry. i thought the location was good, and much preferred to stay on the west bank, close to the major tourist attractions. It was easy enough to duck over on the ferry for ATMs, Luxor sights, and Sofra restaurant! The rooms with ensuites are... more

We had actually initially checked into another place next door, but were not impressed as the rooms were filthy. We came here to check out the restaurant and were won over by the hotel owner attention, approach, overall staff service quality, friendliness and attention to detail. When we saw the spotless rooms, we immediately checked out of the other hotel... more

Our stay at El Nakhil, December 2009, was overall perfectly fine. The hotel was basic, clean and well located on the West Bank. The staff was very eager to please, even providing a simple meal when we arrived at 2AM. The downside was noise that disrupted sleep and a very limited breakfast menu. Overall, the location and value were good. more

The hotel is about 40-50 minutes from the airport. It is best to have the hotel arrange the pick up for you so that you dont have to hassle with the taxi service outside of the airport. It will also be cheaper to have the hotel pick you up. The hotel grounds are very clean. We found everything to be... more

This hotel is in a great location on the west bank. Just down the lane is a bicycle rent shop and a quad-bike hire shop. Both great fun. My room was: 1. clean; 2. large (room and bathroom); 3. nice and cool. I think this place would be great in summer. It had a massive AC we did not have... more

We were very comfortable in this mid-range, small family-run hotel. My wife has a severe gluten allergy and the owner went to great lengths to provide special meals, even importing gluten free food for our arrival. This attitiude to service was reflected by all the staff. We ate almost all our meals here in the pleasant, covered roof top restaurant... more
