We stayed here for 2 nights in December 2011 when the hotel was nearly full. The location in Westlands is decent enough and less than 30 minutes from the airport. This hotel is quite a long way from the airport, which is made worse by the horrendous Nairobi traffic. It is an old two storey colonial building behind a high wall. The grounds of this renovated Holiday Inn are phenominal!!! Lush gardens, cactus trees are surrounded by the outer walls... the hotel rooms are within, only 2 stories tall, which makes it more intimate that a highrise. I stayed at the Southern Sun Mayfair Nairobi from 12th to 15th December 2011. The rooms are clean and breakfast is great. The free WiFi Internet does not connect well in some rooms, as was the case in my room. The hotel has lovely gardens. But I think it is overpriced. More
