One of kenya's hidden treasure.Very reasonably priced. For what you pay at the other big name hotels, the quality does not compare to what you will get at Macushla. Our wedding was about 20 mins away and we went to macushla to take our photos. The staff was ready for us when we arrived and they brought the snacks out... more

What a great little place... peaceful, charming and authentic. The room they had allocated to my son and I just had one large bed (instead of two twins), they felt so bad about it they offered us an additional room across the hall so that we wouldn’t have to share a bed. Very gracious, very generous offer (two rooms for... more

Macushla House was our first stop in Nairobi on our way to safari in Tanzania. We found it to be beautiful and comfortable with an incredibly kind staff who looked after us like we were family. The Karen area is lovely and the Macushla House property is very well taken care of. There are several indoor and outdoor seating areas,... more

Macushla House is an ideal place to stop before embarking on as safari holiday and for coming back to for a couple of day relaxation afterwards. We stayed two nights at the beginning and two nights at the end of a wonderful but very tiring safari. Coming back to the Macushla House felt like coming home. Macushla House is small... more

Very tasteful decor - attentive staff, spotlessly clean. Beautiful food - the best we tasted all trip. Very close to Giraffe sanctuary and Karen Blixen museum etc. - easily within walking distance although we were advised to take a taxi. Nice secluded pool area to sit and relax. A real homely place to relax pre or post safari. Real value... more

Macushla is in a leafy suburb of Nairobi and offers amazing value considering how luxurious the accommodation is, and how thoughtful the management and staff are - it's a million miles from the chain hotels that charge more and provide less. After looking at every option in Nairobi, and being put off by the cost of Ngong House and Giraffe... more

Nairobi is not our favourite capital city so we were not looking forward to spending one night here before travelling on to Rwanda. So what a suprise it was to stay in this little haven. Originally built as a private home it is a wonderful oasis in the karen district of Nairobi about half an hour from the airport. Wonderful... more

My husband, teenage daughter and I spent one night at Macushla house after a 10-day Tanzanian safari. We arrived in the afternoon, dusty and tired, just needing a place to sleep before catching our early flight the next morning at Nairobi Airport. Macushla House truly is an oasis...it feels like a private home; the walls are hung with an interesting... more

The Macushla House is a gem in Karen, a suburb of Nairobi. It is quiet, well run with wonderful staff, and absolutely lovely. Breakfast was included, and I found that I ate all of my dinners there, too. more
