We stayed 2 nights in Kizingo after a safari-trip in Kenya. It was too short ! 3 nights is better (more is perhaps too many). It is the perfect place to relax and do nothing before going back to Europe. The bandas (large straw rooms) are very comfortable. The food is delicious. Service is very good. There is nothing to... more

My husband and I stayed at Kizingo for five nights at the end of our honeymoon having been busy doing safari and staying at Shela for two nights. To start with the downsides, I think five nights may have been a bit too much but I would definatly recommend about three to enable you to fully relax and appreciate the... more

Kizingo is not for everyone --- the Bandas (straw houses made by locals in the local style) are really large -- a sea of space. The beach is magnificent, the food is very good (fresh, tasty, not too much). But there are no window sin the Bandas (just large spaces in the walls with straw blinds which we left open... more

Very bare-bones. It is essentially assisted camping, not a luxurious stay by any standard. The hosts are very friendly and provide a very casual atmosphere. The beach is not that clean--full of debris and small crabs. Water is more green-brown than blue. Definitely not a beach you lay out on. The individual bandas (huts) are separated from each other and... more

We had a great time there. Wisely booked after a week on safari. Nice place to unwind. Best part is the hosts. Mary Jo is very witty and very nice. Louie a bit quieter but very nice as well. The bandas are almost all natural, local materials. Very nice. Very clean considering very open to the elements. Food was great.... more

We loved Kizingo, a small eco-resort, with a lazy, get-away-from-it atmosphere. The owners and staff are very friendly and we felt very well looked after. Each 'banda' (palm bungalow) has its own solar lighting and water heating and we were mostly very comfortable - though you do depend on the breeze for ventilation. Swimming is safe, though it's not a great... more

An absolute paradise for those who enjoy a peaceful holiday, with great food and very friendly and excellent staff. The propriortors Mary Jo and Luis make all guests feel very welcome, and share their experiences with them whilst taking a drink before lunch or dinner. Since the Lodge only has 6 bandas it renders a very personal atmosphere. Beautiful beaches... more
