Property's Favourite Review
We were met by the entire private staff of about 8 with cool towels and glass of juice after our jeep ride to this lodge. Staff was super friendly and accommodating. We had the entire 3 bedroom house to relax in, including a living room area with a fireplace where we enjoyed evening drinks after our day’s activities. Also had a large porch/ veranda overlooking a waterhole frequented by variety of wildlife. Nice pool too although we weren’t able to partake because we had so many activities planned for our 3 night stay. The private chef provided nice meals, and accommodated our groups special dietary needs. Our Maasai Safari guide, Senior, was part of the staff , and super informative. He took us to a local Maasai elementary school as well as a village in addition to daily game drives. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience! The Mara Bush houses are Amazing!

Our family had a superb stay at Acacia House this August. Martin was our host and guide and he was exceptional. He was extremely knowledgable about the wildlife and the whole Mara ecosystem and really brought the game drives to life. His enthusiasm and interest really added to each drive and he was superb at preparing our breakfasts and lunches in the bush too. We loved Acacia House, which was very comfortable and well equipped. The balcony was wonderful and to sit quietly and watch the animals arrive at the watering hole was very special. We felt thoroughly spoilt by the wonderful team of staff that looked after us. From greeting us with fresh towels and drinks when we arrived back from the drives, to sending us off with hot water bottles when we left for the early morning trips, to lighting the fire in the evening and preparing delicious meals, we couldn't have been better looked after. We will definitely be recommending Mara Bush Houses to our friends.

We really enjoyed the staff and housing at Mara Bush. The game drives were very good. The only negative was the distance we had to travel to get to some of the spots. Not sure if there would have been a better more central location in Mara. We had an excellent guide, Fred Ranko. He was a native of the area and part of the Maasai tribe so we really learned a lot about the Maasai culture. We went on a hot air ballon ride at sunrise with champagne and breakfast in the bush that was a highlight. We also recommend going to see a Maasai village. It was very interesting.

No words are enough to express the joy of returning to the same house we visited 5 years back. Nothing has changed, the same serene set-up, the same smiling staff (some have changed, and moved on with new responsibilities in other Asilia camps), the same hospitality, delicious food and impeccable services. Last time we picked up the dry season (during migration), this time we opted for wet season just to try out something different to see how the bush experience changes. And glad we did that, it was honestly spectacular. Lush green, brilliant lights for photography, occasional downpour and thundershowers but never a dampener for game viewing, lot of animal babies and some spectacular wildlife viewing. Please read my previous stay review at Mara Bush House, 5 years back (in 2017) - https://www.tripadvisor.in/ShowUserReviews-g294209-d3309460-r512502795-Mara_Bush_Houses_Asilia_Africa-Maasai_Mara_National_Reserve_Rift_Valley_Province.html We have been fortunate enough to get back Martin as our guide, we had a fabulous 6-days with him (3 nights at Acacia House, and previously 3 nights at Encounter Mara, Asilia’s tented camp accommodation in Naboisho conservancy). Martin’s friendly demeanor, his professional abilities and knowledge about animal behavior led to some spectacular sightings this time too. Given the green season, the number of tourists were few, and that added further to the excitement of spotting the game around. Game was abundant, sighting of cats were challenging but not difficult. We did have some spectacular sightings of cheetahs, including witnessing a live hunt (two failed attempts, and third time lucky), lost count on the number of unique lions we saw (3 prides add up to nearly 50+ unique lions) and also the elusive leopard showed up on the last drive – mama leopard with her two cubs. There were several large herd of elephants, giraffes, zebras, impalas, topis and plenty of babies across all species. I would like to personally thank each of the staff at Mara Bush House (Acacia House), time and again they have made our stay so memorable. We for sure will return to the house, next time we are in Mara and hope it is soon, sooner 😊

Hello, What an absolute pleasure to have had you at our camp once again. We are extremely pleased to know that your recent stay with us was as good as your previous experience 5 years ago. This testament that our excellent service offering has remained the same throughout the years. One of the most enthralling aspects of a Kenyan safari experience is the dramatic landscape change that comes with each season. Each season brings about a different but spectacular change to the landscape which attracts different kinds of animals. We are most certainly delighted that you had the privilege of experiencing both the dry season and now recently, the wet season and witnessing the changes that come with each season. Thank you for your lovely compliment about Martin and the rest of the staff at Mara Bush House. We will definitely share your feedback with them. Thank you once again for choosing us as your preferred safari camp. We look forward to welcoming you again in the not-so-distant future. Warmest regards from Africa, The Mara Bush Houses Team

This place was amazing and the guide Martin was great! The food was incredible and it was the best play we saw out here. There was a pool and stuff to do around the house, but all of our time was spent out in the bush with animals. I’d highly recommend this place.

It was a beautiful place. There was a pool there, but we didn't have time to go swimming before dark and it was too cool to swim after dark. The food and housing was wonderful They had a fire for us every evening at the outside bar.

Topi House was our 3rd and final stay during 8 night, 9 day safari experience in Kenya. It was as exciting and fun filled as our stays at Lewa House and Naboisho. Fred the manager / guide, Johnson and Mark the chef were outstanding hosts. We saw lions, cheetahs, leopards, crocodiles, hippos, gazelles, topis, edlund, warthogs and many other animals and host of newborns! Impossible for me to list all the African birds we saw everyday! Fred our Masai guide has amazing knowledge of the animals, birds and the Masai culture. Mark the chef cooks like a Michelin Chef and has no boundaries so we ate like kings and queens! We will be back!

We have just spent 4 nights staying in Acacia House and have had the most amazing time. We have two girls aged 14 and 9 and they loved every minute. We made the most of every opportunity offered to us whilst there so we were up and ready for early morning safaris, as well as a whole day safari, we visited a local school and interacted with the staff and children, spent time at a local market to get a feel for life in the Masai Mara and even ate meals in the middle of the Mara! Our guide, Sammy, was absolutely superb. His knowledge of the area and animal behaviour made our time extra special. We saw some incredible sights and experienced animals closer than I thought would ever be possible in the wild. Watching a lion stride towards the open sided vehicle until about a metre away and then turning away was just awesome! Every day going out there was a feeling of anticipation and excitement at what we would see... and we were never disappointed! The staff at Acacia House were all fantastic ... every time we returned from a trip out we were greeted by our hosts, Leonard and Joshua, with hot or cold flannels and a refreshing drink. The same hosts were with us for the duration of our stay so got to know us and what we liked (especially how we liked our G&T!) The meals were all delicious and a great selection ... especially with children! Sammy also ate with us which we loved. Overall it was the most incredible few days and experiences we will never forget! Thankyou!
