If you are a newbie at the national park then this is the place for you. They have all 3 meals provided, tourist information, souvenir shop, safari vehicles and guides to assist you spot the big 5! Clean, friendly staff but very touristy! Food is average but the entertainment for the evening dinner buffet is fun.

We arrived earlier in the week (May 2013) maybe not the best time to visit the park or perhaps the hotel as this is the rainy season. That said the staff looked after us unbelieveably well chef even cooked us anything we would like. The game drive was excellent with our driver "Dansun" being determined to find as many animals... Situated in the midst of masai mara reserve, the Lodge is on the banks of river and very near to the reserve gates. All rooms are lovely wooden log cabins with a view of the river, though some rooms might be far from dining area. Rooms are big, clean comfortable with necessary amenities and a sit out. Food was lavish... More

We stayed in the Mara Simba Lodge for one night and it was excellent - everything one can ask for was there: - Stuff: The stuff (including the great manager of Mara Simba Lodge!) was sympathic, friendly and helpfull to the fullest - there is no way they would let you carry your luggage by yourself or would not try... We stayed here from 8/03/13-09/03/13. The only positive thing about this place is 3-4 hippos (out of vicinity totally although you could only just catch a glimpse of their backs. They only seem to leave the water mostly in the middle of the night and are in water by early morning); one crocodile that comes around during feeding time; two... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay in this charming unpretentious lodge. The log cabins were roomy, clean and overlooked the Talek River. There was a real homely feel to the place with the staff ever attentive without being too much so. There was plenty of room to stroll around in if you felt the need and lots of different... More

the rooms were lovely - separate logcabins with monkeys impala and fabulous birdlife by our balconys, we ate under starlight and candlelight watching the hippo family and weaver colony. Food was excellent and we would love to return. Our safari holiday was booked with Virgin and we had a driver to ourselves and expolored Lake Nakuru and Navaisha as well... More

Mara Simba Lodge Good food. Very nice staff. Clean rooms. Wifi only works in reception/restaurant area. Antennas by rooms, but not functional. Very expensive access charges. The Serena lodges I've been at have free wifi. Lastly, no smoke detectors installed in rooms. Very dangerous, all it takes is one forgotten cigarette. Bring your own smoke detector or stay someplace else.
