My husband and I have just returned from the most amazing holiday ever. We stayed at Fig Tree Camp, and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone. The staff are very friendly, food was buffet with lots of choice. Rooms and public areas were spotlessly clean. Sitting outside our tent overlooking the Talek River was the most peaceful time I have... more

The first camp we visited during our safari and a really great one. Luxurious tents located beautifully next to the river. We spotted a lot of wildlife just sitting in front of our tent including baboons, warthog, impala, crocodile, a kingfisher and many other birds. Game around this camp was excellent during our stay. Food is buffet style and good,... more

Having read the previous reviews and The Fig Tree broucher, we decided to book and stay there for two nights. I would have to agree that the staff were very friendly and the safari and guide were again fantastic. But that's where it stops. Elephants and hippos drinking from the river or waterhole near the tents ( I think not)... more

We had four nights at Fig Tree Camp as part of a ten day safari to Kenya - primarily to see the migration. The hotel is fairly well located for where the herds were at the time, though the river level was very low so there was very little wildlife on the river margins. We stayed in a tent overlooking... more

All in all excellent. I would absolutely recommend this camp. SERVICE The service in the restaurant was amazing. Everybody was so friendly and asked us if the food was good, how our day had been, what animals we had seen etc. and they made a lot of fun with us. ROOMS The room was about average I think. Two beds... more

We have just returned from spending 2 nights / 3 days here and it was unbelievably fantastic. We booked it with Victor at Sunset Tours after our original safari company failed to show up to meet us. I posted a thread on the story of this on the Mombasa forum so I won’t go into it here. Suffice to say,... more

We left Turtle Bay Beach Club in Watamu at 7.45am and were driven to Malindi Airport for our 8.20am flight to The Masai Mara. We boarded our 13 Seater Plane for our 2 hour flight. During the flight we saw some beautiful views and flew past Mount Kilimanjaro with its Snow covered peaks. On arrival we were picked up by... more

What a wonderful experience, a fantastic place, we stayed in a tent ! over the Talek river, where the hippo's and elephants usually come at night. The tent, is a luxury. The safari's again were fantastic, we seen four of the big 5, the local masai really do know how to track the animals, and know so much about all... more

My partner is not into camping and was concerned that she might be 'roughing it'. Admittedly we'd been upgraded to the luxury tents, but there was no element of 'roughing it' with this camp. Four poster bed, en-suite bathroom, excellent and attentive staff - all round a lovely stay. The safaris were well spaced and though the reserve was sparsely... more

We booked Fig Tree Camp via Robert Safari’s on Diani Beach, Ukunda for two nights & three days at a cost all in including transport too & from our Hotel both ends as well as the flights to the Masai Mara at a cost of £400 each. Mt initial reaction that was the Safaris were expensive but having been I... more
