I booked a 2 night safari at this lodge through Abdul from Tundra tours in Watamu and it was all I expected and more. The staff are all very friendly, the food excellent and a good choice available, and the rooms although basic are very clean and comfortable. The location is superb with hippos on your doorstep, although they can... more

Do not pay for a safari through the "beach boys" on bamburi beach, especially through "samson" of a company that call themselves either "North Coast Safaris" or "Mombasa North tours and travell" They will rob you blind and just ignore you when you go back to them with your complaints. more

Our experience at the David Livingstone Safari Lodge started well and got better. We arrived by light aircraft and were welcomed by staff with a cold flannel and a lovely fresh glass of mango juice. We were taken to the rooms. We had specifically asked for interconnecting rooms as we have young-ish children and although we had not been allocated... more

My husband and I spent 2 nights at the lodge in September, flying in from Mombasa. (The flight passes Kilimanjaro which is great!). I would recommend travelling to the Masai Mara for safari because the lions (in particular) are just amazing. The lodge itself is nice, food amazing and the staff are so friendly - especially the Manager, Chris. We... more

This is a great place to stay, by the masai river with the hippos coming in and out. The food was great too, the driver for the safari (John) made sure we saw the big 5 in the short stay we had. The staff are open to any requests you may have and the manager Chris is allways around to... more

This was the first leg in our 2 week trip to Kenya. Travelling in a big group (14), arrival on a private landing strip just outside the resort. Warm welcome with a cold towel. With a large group all the rooms were pre-allocated. Especially great with the kids who want to dump their bags and explore. Explore, they did, with... more

I spent a week in the Masai Mara, staying at two different hotels: David Livingstone, and an expensive tented camp (I won't mention names). I had a fantastic time at both places, obviously they have their own appeals - but if I had to choose which one to go back to, it would be David Livingstone any day of the... more

This was the greatest lodge in Masai Mara. When you arrive you are treated like a star. Beverages and hot towels to comfort yourself. They have their own landing strip and when you arrive the owner comes to see you. When you arrive masia people come, sing, and dance. The food is out of the world; it will meet all... more
