We stayed here in September 2008 and words can’t describe how incredible our stay was. It may be going too far but I would say this was the best 3 days of my life, really. We had a spacious luxury tent which felt quite secluded, but at the same time you only needed to call out and a member of... more

When my fiancé suggested a safari for our honeymoon, I had my doubts. All reservations and doubts dissolved when we arrived at Richard’s Camp. Our hosts, JJ and Edwina, were wonderful and our guide made our experience unforgettable. Everything was perfect, from watching the sun set in the Mara, to seeing the wildebeest migration to a candlelit dinner with hippos.... more

Back from an incredible holiday in Kenya which included a stay at Richard's fabulous camp. I could have stayed there for weeks (months even!). What could be better than eating outside, under the stars, listening to the sounds of the animals as they make their way out to hunt? Waking up at 2am to hear hippos munching grass at the... more

I spent two nights at Richard's Camp in low season where despite heavy rain and flooding, the mood remained extremely positive and the service was always with a smile. The game drives were quite outstanding watching a lioness and her cubs, two stalking lions, leopard (!) croc, birdlife and hippo/topi/buffalo/wildebeest/gazelle galore with Richard and Sedera our experienced spotter. The other... more

We are a family with four small children, aged 3,5,7 and 9. Contrary to popular advice in the UK, we took them all with us to Kenya for the most amazing holiday we have ever had. We started at Richards Camp and wish we were still there. Liz and RIchard (the Camp Owners) could not have been more accomodating and... more

I had absolutely no idea that I would enjoy this so much. Persuaded to go by my family, I was dubious - not convinced that luxury camping was me; pretty sure I prefer my wild animals on a TV screen, and my food in a good restaurant; concerned about the whole rich-people-exploit-the-poor-world set up. And we were going with two... more

I spent four years living in Kenya so I've been on many wonderful safaris. However, this time I was taking my husband, my two children (ages 9 and 4) and my parents - - not one but three generations to keep happy. From the moment we landed at Mara Safari Club airport, we felt like VIP's. Our own gorgeous, well-kitted... more

We Stayed at Richards Camp for 3 nights, not overly impressed , the food was below average and items were chipped and cracked. The old Victorian Bath Tub needs some attention. No mention of Sundowners. Plus points were, Tents are large and very comfortable and our Guide was very good . We had sole use of the landrover and guide.... more

We have just returned from the most perfect Honeymoon. The first leg of which was spent in Kenya. Having recently seen all the problems on the news in Kenya we did have our concerns, but on the travel agents advice decided to go and were so glad we did - we had the time of our lives! Three nights of... more

We have just arrived home from a two week fly/drive Safari staying at small luxury tented camps in both Kenya and Tanzania. They were all outstanding but the lasting memories will always be of Richards camp. Everything they provide is underpinned by quality and an overwhelming desire to deliver the ulimate experience to their guests and we all felt they... more
