For anyone planning on visiting Beijing,China, do not stay at the Hai Te Hotel. You will be extremely disappointed. There were 3 sets of Canadians that had booked that hotel. Two of them left after the first night. The third family is still there but went through an ordeal to change rooms 3 times. There was rat poison and roaches in the rooms. The carpets were filthy. The washrooms weren't clean. You had to boil any water out of the tap.....and the list goes on. The family that stayed were put in one discusting room first, then moved to a spa room. They had to be let in everytime because they weren't allowed keys. They weren't given any blankets, just a sheet. There was tea from some other guest still there and the washroom had never been cleaned. They tried to leave the Hai Te Hotel after the spa room ordeal. The staff tried desparately to have them stay. They promised to move them into an executive room to keep them there. They pondered over dinner and decided they would stay. When... more
