This is definitely a 5 star hotel with very nice rooms and top notch service. If I were going back for work, I would definitely stay again. However, if you are going to Beijing for fun, this might be a little boring. It feels very luxe, complete with high-end shopping mall built right in. I supposed I was hoping for... more

Excellent service; great breakfast; AMAZING spa - out of this world. But the rooms were smallish and there was something lacking with the place. Think more memorable places exist for less money. more

Peninsula hotels are very famous in the world and pretty expensive too. But, I found this one very cheap on orientaltravel.com site. It was around 120 USD, or something like that. I don't remember any more. Rooms were great, but there was no view...Hotel is excellent, on reception floor and two floors down is a luxorious shopping centre with all... more

fabulous trip to Beijing. The level of experience we expect from the Peninsula was delivered - and more. Very friendly staff. We ordered for some Yang Zhou fried rice at midnight (an hour after the Cantonese restraunt had closed), but the friendly man on the other end of the phone got hold of someone from the overnight dining kitchen who... more

This was our first Peninsula and we had been warned that it wouldn't match up to the lofty standards of its sister hotels in New York and Hong Kong. We don't have that for comparison but we did compare it against our stay in the Four Seasons in Shanghai and the Peninsula beat it marginally despite it being a lot... more

Booked a winter special package for an overnight stay in mid-December. I had to fly in and out of Beijing for just one night for a business-related event, and loved the service. For CNY 1300, I had a standard room, plus free breakfast, and a round-trip (not one-way, but round-trip) airport transfer in one of their new BMW 7-Series. The... more

We spent 3 days at this hotel. The rooms were quite large. the Tv in the bathroom was a nice touch. Free internet was very convenient. Location was good. I just read another review, which seems to be the opposite of what we felt...this proves the great VALUE of tripadvisor. WE found the rooms to be very clean, and the... more

I've stayed at this hotel this past winter on a business trip. Traditionally, I've stayed at the Grand Hyatt, China New World, and the brand new Regent hotel (during the Olympics). This is about my 3rd time staying here but the first time in at least 6-7 years. First off, Pros: Good location and access to Wangfujing shopping. It's about... more

My son and I stayed at The Peninsula Hotel, Beijing, in December 2008. We spent more time in our rooms than we had intended because the weather was so bitterly cold. But we enjoyed every minute of it. The accommodations were luxurious and the service superb. From the down comforters, to the deep tub, to the temperature and lighting controls,... more
