Qianmen is a tourist hotel, several streets/blocks away from the shopping area and what I believe is the best city of Beijing. You need to take a taxi. However, there is some shops, a McDonalds and a supermarket close by. The hotel overall is very boring, lobby area is without charm and I was really missing a nice bar spot... more

The hotel is strategically located and in a nice neighbourhood where you can stroll around or find a non-touristy spot for dinner. Stayed here for 4 nights as part of a tour group. The hotel itself is lovely - sparkling clean with plenty of amenities and clean, spacious rooms. Friendly staff in foyer bar, shops and reception.
