I went on a tour of Shanghai, Xian and Shanghai. This hotel was great. It had a beautiful lobby and great hotel bar. The rooms were nice and the service in the hotel was excellent. They had the best breakfast buffet of all the hotels I stayed in in China. I would compare it to a nice Marriott or Hilton... more

This is what I consider a typical international hotel. The beds were very large, albeit incredibly hard. If you live in the U.S. try sleeping on a carpeted floor to get roughly the same feel. The room itself was satsifactory. The television was missing the power button and remote didn't work very well. There were tons of light switches everywhere,... more

This hotel was coordinated by our tour company as part of our stay in Beijing. We found this hotel to be very charming and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our rooms were fairly large and were equipped with nice bathrooms (two showers and bathtubs). Pretty much everything was provided in the rooms including mini bar, cable, toiletries etc.. It is however,... more

We stayed here two nights with a tour group. The hotel should be a 3.5 rating and not a five. The property is a little faded and worn and located a long distance from the center of Beijing. Virually no English was spoken but since we had translators with us we were okay. But a Spanish group we met had... more

In 2005, we took a tour to China and this hotel was the one that we stayed in for five nights in Beijing. Based upon our experience at this hotel, it is our recommendation not to stay at this hotel. We want to make it very clear that we are seasoned travelers. We have taken bus tours, land tours, railroads... more

Recent stay of 4 nights. The breakfasts were fine, didn't try other meals there. Excellent swimming pool. (Men have to buy a hat for $5!) Rooms were very nice...13th floor was better than 4th floor room for some reason. Front desk very friendly and all staff helpful. Fun Curio shop for addicted shoppers a short 1 blk walk away. Good... more

I stayed a total of nine nights in September 2002 and was impressed overall. Yes, it's a ways off from the central city, but it's right on the freeway and taxis are very inexpensive. There is little shopping in the hotel but one of the city's largest outdoor markets is only two blocks away north on the freeway. One street... more

The King Wing is not right in the center of the city nor will you find it on a list of the most popular 5 star hotels, but it was very well appointed and in its favour it offered 5 star service at a very competitive rate and it was very tranquil. As my wife and I were on 6... more

King wing is beautiful and the rooms were luxurious and comfortable. But lack of english speaking staff really tainted my stay. Ordering room service was a test of my patience. I was passed along several times through different staff - for them to understand something that I was quoting from the menu. And sometimes they just hang up. But for... more
