I stayed at this hotel because a conference I was attending was located same place. Where to start... Well outside the temp was -7c (sudden cold snap) and surprisingly almost same inside. Over 20 people complained and 24 hours later they grudgingly turned on the heating... At least my last night I didn't need to sleep with clothes on! Then... more

The buffet dinner was very good, lobster, steak, all types of seafoods plus wine for around £10. Staff were very polite and the lobby was comfortable for having a drink. The only negaitive remark I have is that the restauarant and the room was too hot, not sure if there was a problem with the air con. We opened the... more

I attended a seminar at this hotel, and that's the only reason I chose it for my stay in Beijing. The rooms are extremely worn - one of the light-switches in my room was cracked in half and stuck together with cellotape. Not all of the reception staff speak sufficient English and it can sometimes be difficult to ask them... more

As part of a small tour, my daughter and I stayed here. I was looking forward to this hotel because my husband and I had stayed there in November, 2005. It is not the same hotel. As soon as we opened the door, the smell of mold and mildew hit us. The carpet was filthy and the shower was moldy.... more

Just had a 3-day trip there staying at this hotel at a bargain (< USD80). From what I experienced most of beijing's hotels are never in good value so this is good price. The property is indeed old as many said, but it's not as bad as I thought. Assume it's a 3-star hotel + some nicer touch and you'll... more

Reservations at this state guest house were part of an extended tour but the arrangements more than met our needs on this first stop in China. Room was well appointed with quality bedding and bath products, robes, and slippers. Staff members were knowledgeable and very accommodating, particularly with transormer/adapter needed for 110v appliances, when our multi-purpose unit would not fit... more

Because my reservation (made 4 months prior) had been lost, I was given the "last room available." What a pit! Dirty, stained carpets; old, dirty chairs; chipped & battered dresser with sticky drawers; bad shower door that flooded the bathroom floor -- I always had to put the extra bath towel down to catch the flow. Female desk staff were... more

I travelled to Beijing for business and stayed at the Presidential for 2 nights, booked through my company. After reading all the good reviews I was looking forward to my short stay, however I was disappointed... Checkin was fast and efficient but not friendly. I didnt find my room to be very clean and found hair in both the basin... more

This is a lovely hotel in a great location in Beijing. The service is great. The main lobby is very impressive, although the rooms are a bit dated. Overall, a good choice for Beijing more
