I booked the Wangfujin Grand Hotel through latestay.com "mystery hotel" because of the location and attractive price...my advise is NEVER book a "mystery hotel"!!! I feel very cheated!!! The hotel claims they're a 5-star hotel, but all other sites I've been on states 4-star. I've stayed in many 5-star hotels in China (including Beijing) and Asia, and believe me, apart... more

this hotel is not the cheapest you will find in beijing. however if like us you are not staying a month it does not really matter to much. the staff are very friendly and helpful. the concierge organised our train ticket to xi'an for us. which was handy with the language etc. china is probably not caught up with english... more

As many reviewers already said, the location is great but the hotel is somewhat worn down. We stayed for a week and very much enjoyed the friendly staff and it's convienent location. The view of the forbidden city is great. However the smog made it almost impossible to see forbidden city some days. In a clear day it's just great.... more

The Wangfujing Grand was a pretty nice hotel. It had the typical quirks of many Chinese hotels, things like big posters in the elevators for a night club on the 3rd floor that didn't exist, but overall we had a good experience. We paid extra for the executive rooms which came with breakfast included. The rooms were more, but included... more

Stayed at the Wangfujing Grand Hotel for seven nights on my way back to Canada Chose the hotel for its location and reported view of Forbiden City. I booked the room directly through the hotel website (http://www.wangfujinghotel.com/). Spent a little extra for the Forbidden City view and upon arrival at hotel found that the room had been upgraded to a... more

Stayed at the Wangfujing Grand Hotel for two nights after returning to Bejing from tour to North Korea. Chose the hotel for its location and reported view of Forbiden City. We were very pleased with this hotel. The room was adequate to suit our needs and the beds were soft and comfortable. We had a standard room on the tenth floor with a beautiful view of the Forbidden City and Tian'anmen square. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. They spoke very good english and went over and above... more

The hotel is in the historical district but is far away from all transportation. The subway is a 15 minute walk, of which you will be harassed by prostitutes, madams and pimps up until RIGHT OUTSIDE the hotel if you come back past 9pm at night. To Wudaokou or any night destination the trip is long and often times it... more

This hotel is billed as a 5* but it is nothing like a Western standard 5* hotel. The website looks very enticing and indeed we paid a fortune for a VIP Executive Suite by way of a treat for a 'once in a lifetime' holiday to the 2008 Beijing Olympics. We had to pay in cash up front and upon... more

We stayed here as part of a tour package made in Hong Kong. Plenty of hot water. Beds were comfortable. Hotel clean and service was immediate. The location was perfect for my wife and daughter, everything was in easy walking distance. My parents are elderly but they didn't have a problem walking to the shopping. We had the buffet breakfast... more
