I could not believe how quiet it was. No traffic noise at all. Very peaceful sleep. Had a single room which was very small- nothing fancy but def. has character. I enjoyed it. Nice location if you want to explore the hutongs right from your door. Front desk staff very, very helpful. Room had huge window looking out into the... More

I stayed at the Lu Song Yuan hotel based on a recommendation from a friend. I was on a personal trip and thought I would try something different. I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. It was a very good experience from check-in to check out. The hotel is an amazing hutong in a historical building. The hotel is furnished... More

Stayed here for 3 nights with my boyfriend. What a lovely antique hotel! It has a certain rustic charm as it retains the original taste of the hotel. Rooms are not very big but the hotel is strategically located and it offers easy access to different sightseeing spots. I especially enjoyed spending the afternoon at the courtyard where we had... This has been my third time staying at this hotel, it’s a very simple style hotel, no frills, just a nice old style Chinese hutong hotel. It’s not easy to find but surrounded by small streets full of shops and restaurants, plenty of places to walk around and shop, also close to The Forbidden City and good tourist location. My... More

This hotel gets so much love from me. It's in a very convenient location, close to lots of cool things to see, but even more importantly, they have great customer service. The woman at the front desk speaks English and is very helpful in giving directions and other information for finding your way around. They are very prompt at answering... More

This is a nice hotel in a great location --- but the Hong Kong owner refuses to invest in the internet. Much of the time it doesn't work and at other times is very slow. This is a difficult issue if you are trying to work here.

The location is perfect. It is a few steps away from the best Hutong in the city (Nan Luo Gu Xiamg - according to my friend from Beijing). You can walk to the Forbidden City in about 30 minutes (if you're happy to enter through the exit and proceed backwards through the site), and then on to Tianamen Square. The... More

If you are a sucker for fancy hotels, this is not for You! If you are a sucker for charming traditional Hutong hotels this one may be the one. It's situated close to the Houhai Lake area and South Luogu Alley. It's the area where young chinese people find their amusement lots of bars, shopping and restaurants. Its pretty close... More

Nice place to be. I was a little apprehensive when my boyfriend was trying to get a cab here since no one seemed to understand that we wanted to get close to where the hotel was since we knew they wouldn't drop us off in the hutong, but when we got there aside from a mild musty smell which I... This hotel is a great find for those wanting to avoid sterile and overpriced tourist hotels and see what is left of Beijing hutong life. If you're a Little Princess who is horrified at stains on the carpets and expects to be pampered by staff, then spend much more money and stay elsewhere with your ilk. If you want a... More
