Jianguo Garden Hotel is very close to a couple of the big attractions in Bejing. It’s about a 5 minute drive from both Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. It is located in a very safe area. We walked to a shopping mall located a couple blocks from the hotel and felt very safe. The hotel has several restaurants in... more

Our accommodations at Jianguo were excellent. The rooms were very spacious compared to many type of places in China, and the service was excellent. The bar offers an all-you-can-drink happy hour starting at 7 pm. I'm not sure if they still offer it after we were done with the place! I think we cleaned them out! hahaha. I recommend Jianguo... more

Unfortunately, our stay was booked via a tour company, so we were powerless to switch hotels. The Jonguo Hotel showed us several alertantive rooms, when we showed them the dangerous black mold in our bathroom. All of the rooms they showed us, even the "upgraded" 11th floor, had black mildew. The carpets in teh bedrooms were stained as well. I think... more

Three nights here in October. The lobby consists of a vast empty space with a few restaurants, bars etc around it. All looking a little second rate and in need of a refurbishment. The room was well enough equipped, but with tired decor and all looking a bit 1970's. We tried two of the restaurants -"Asia" is western orientated and... more

Stayed there for 7 nights from September 4th 2009. Bottom line: Old not well maintained rooms with abyssimal service. We stayed there with a baby for 7 nights. The room's furniture were old and not adapted to a stay longer than one night: we wanted to unpack our suitcases but there was simply not enough storage space (drawers, chest, closet)... more

The lobby and restaurant are beautiful and the breakfast was great BUT the room was old-old bathroom, old furniture, old carpet. more

I'll succumb to the crowd and append my earlier review. If you're looking for reviews of the "garden' Jianguo located further west, good luck. The Jianguo smells wonderful. Whatever the scent is, it's great. Even covered up the smell of smoke (happily banned now). The breakfast is wonderful. Western tourists, try the Asian breakies, they're awesome, and its good to... more

The hotel is centrally located near the silk market and other amenities. I would recommend the hotel to both families and business travellers. Breakfast, rooms, swimming pool, sauna, service and staff are all excellent. The hotel is really like a little oasis in busy Beijing and deserves its name (well garden is perhaps a little exaggerated). The only nuisance is... more

15 minutes by car from the centre but lower price than central hotels. Adequate rooms, although aircon did not work in our room, but nothing fancy. Casual and formal restaurants, but we preferred starbucks just outside. Staff quite helpful. Most guests seem to be on package tours in groups. Secure/safe. more

I called to inquire the rates for Jianguo Garden less than a week before I was slated to depart from Singapore. Operators spoke Mandarin, and when asked if she could speak English, she humbly replied a little. She quoted me the board rates, but when I spoke of the organisation in Beijing that I was visiting, she earnestly told me... more
