Our accommodations at Jianguo were excellent. The rooms were very spacious compared to many type of places in China, and the service was excellent. Unfortunately, our stay was booked via a tour company, so we were powerless to switch hotels. The Jonguo Hotel showed us several alertantive rooms, when we showed them the dangerous black mold in our bathroom.All of the rooms they showed us, even the "upgraded" 11th floor, had black mildew. Three nights here in October. The lobby consists of a vast empty space with a few restaurants, bars etc around it. All looking a little second rate and in need of a refurbishment. Stayed there for 7 nights from September 4th 2009. Bottom line: Old not well maintained rooms with abyssimal service. We stayed there with a baby for 7 nights. The room's furniture were old and not adapted to a stay longer than one night: we wanted to unpack our suitcases but there was simply not enough storage space (drawers, chest, closet)... more

The lobby and restaurant are beautiful and the breakfast was great BUT the room was old-old bathroom, old furniture, old carpet. more

The hotel is centrally located near the silk market and other amenities. I would recommend the hotel to both families and business travellers. Breakfast, rooms, swimming pool, sauna, service and staff are all excellent. 15 minutes by car from the centre but lower price than central hotels. Adequate rooms, although aircon did not work in our room, but nothing fancy. Casual and formal restaurants, but we preferred starbucks just outside. Staff quite helpful. Most guests seem to be on package tours in groups. Secure/safe. more
