You really do get what you pay for. And when you pay $12 (U.S.) a night, don't expect much. Our room did have a heater, but it didnt do much good. Beijing is absolutely FREEZING in the winter. The bathroom was scary, and the toilet squeaked VERY loudly all night. On the plus side, the food was very good and... more

Where do i start?? Before i begin, please dont let this colour peoples opinion of Beijing. Beijing was great and some aspects of this hostel were ok. We paid the most amount of money for this hostel (25.00GBP) so far on our worldwide trip, we have stayed in some brilliant hostels/hotels that you could only dream of staying in when... more

The staff was awesome, "noodles" "rice" and "sunny" we incredibly helpful and friendly. The food is great, and the atmosphere in the common room is perfect to get to know people. BUT, my god, the mosquitos were insane- we killed 15 in our room in one night and still woke up with new bites. We went to walmart in downtown... more

Beijing was my first stop in China and I am really glad I picked Leo hostel to stay in. The place is a little difficult to find so make sure you get proper directions to get there. The staff are incredibly helpful and are reasonably conversant with English (very important in China). Whether it's train tickets or tips for getting... more

Simply put, the staff put glass in my food! Nothing else really matters! Due to a loss of face, they decided that it would be funny to give the foreigner glass to eat. Imagine my fury that when confronted about it, they just laughed! Please, please, please stay away! more

I didn't read the reviews on here before we booked but it got a glowing report in the Lonely Planet. I actually quite enjoyed it here despite the mixed reviews I've just read. The rooms are basic but good. We got a Twin with ensutie (no doubles left) for 180RMB which was the most expensive hostel we stayed at in... more

I stayed here in the summer and it was one of the greatest places I stayed on an 8 week tour of China and SE Asia. The hostel is centrally located, the staff was incredibly helpful, and the secret wall tour was excellent. I would definitely recommend this hostel to anyone in need of an affordable place to stay. I... more

I booked for three nights, when I arrived I thought they were nice because they wanted to arrange all my travel needs (for a fee) and they didn't charge me for the three nights and only asked me for 50 yuan deposit. Later on I realized that they wanted to charge me 20 yuan more per night than they had... more

This hostel has really basic room, very very humid and without chairs, wardrobe, hooks in the bathroom that is really not confortable and the horrible thing is that you cannot put toilet paper in the wc but in the basket near water....(!!!).But the location is really perfect for people who want to visit the city and stay outside all day long.I don't... more
