The major problem with this hotel is that one cannot speak to the Manager directly as he speaks no English. We had many problems especially with housekeeping but had to speak to some junior staff who spoke a smattering of English but were never satisfied with the resolution of the problem. The toiletries are stingy. The soaps are so small... more
i book a double room from a travel agent. while the location is cental, it cost me rmb 30 to get from Bejing south station to the hotel hidden behind hawker stalls. The hotel is 4 storey hign, I paid rmb 60 more for a room with a window, unfortunately, the view is an airwell as surrounding building block all... more
Stayed 3 nights from end of November to early December 2008. I am most impressed that the hotel web master personally came to set up my computer for internet connection within minutes and don't charge a single cent for service fees. No complaints on other amenities. Fridge is well stocked with soft drinks and beer, personal safe is ready for... more
Stayed at the Wancheng Hua Fu Hotel for 3 nights. A few observations: 1) This hotel isn't very convenient for those who don't speak Chinese. Front desk staff speaks very basic English, this can get difficult if you have questions about booking tours and issues beyond check-in and check-out. 2) Location is central (two blocks to East Gate of Forbidden... more
I stayed at the hotel for 5 nights with two friends this february. I could upload photos of the room, but another user already did this. When we arrived I think they did not know about our arrival, although I had a printout. It was very useful that one of us spoke chinese,... the english of the staff is about... more
I would highly not recommend staying at this hotel. While it's location is prime, it's simply not worth the hassle. From the get-go, our stay was doomed. The front desk staff were rude, had no record of my friend's booking (yet they did mine and we both had printouts). When we approached the tour desk/business centre and asked if we... more
Negatives: 1. The room stinked smoke. 2. I had booked a Deluxe room but it was not so great compared to a standard room in an ordinary hotel 3. Extra bed provided was broken and had to be replaced 4. The replaced one was bad too and they had to keep some towels 5. I complained this to the manager... more
Stayed 5 nights here in September 2006. It is a fairly basic hotel (The word luxury definately does not apply) I stayed in the standard room the first night as my "deluxe" room was not available. The standard room was somewhat pokey with no seperate shower cubicle (you showered in front on the sink and Toilet). It was also quite... more
I stayed here for a few nights during Lunar New Year. At 30US$/night for a double, you really can't go too wrong. The rating I give here reflects the product based on the price. The location is fantastic, you can see part of the wall of the Forbidden City from the street in front, the shopping street (Wangfujing) is two... more
